Vince Vaughn to Remake 'Brady Bunch': Great Idea, or More Hollywood Recycling?

Here's the story ... of a man named Vince Vaughn .... who is co-developing and executive producing a modern-day reboot of "The Brady Bunch," Deadline reports.

vince vaughn

The original sitcom, which ran from 1969-1974, famously featured two single parents who married and merged their respective three kids each, for a total of three girls and three boys (and let's not forget Alice, the housekeeper.) And that's how they became a family.

In the new reboot, a divorced Bobby Brady (one of the three sons) has kids from a previous marriage, is remarried to a woman who also has children, and they also have a biological child, Deadline reports. Their ex-spouses also play a role in their lives. Certainly a more modern take ... but are you sick of Hollywood recycling the same-old shows and movies over and over again?

People are not really reading this so well. It's not a re-make. It's just one of the boys that divorced and has kids and got with a woman that has kids. sure it has a similar spin on it from the original but when they got together they have their own kid as well. So they put in a bit of difference and I'm sure there are more. It is something to watch anyways if you are willing to give it a go see.

Lame. Hollywood is full of talented people who you'll never hear about because their work will never be aired. Instead, lame formulaic and rehashed projects will be green-lighted by the gutless cowards in charge. If I want entertainment, I'll watch British shows.

It was insipid hogwash then and a remake would be an improvement?

Are there really no new ideas in Hollywood anymore? I hated the Brady Bunch TV series, I hate all the movies, I hate everything even remotely Brady. Import some new talent into Hollywood and get some fresh ideas, PLEASE!

Vince is funny. I guess a remake could be good, depending on how it's done....or it could totally suck/bomb. I'd rather see "The Partridge Family" remake. :D

Don't expect me to open the wallet for this waste of space...
They're now remaking remakes. There's plenty of movies ripe for a remake. Especially low budget things that had great ideas but were restricted by their low budgets and casts of unknowns. But Hollywood isn't even trying, so why should we??

What's next? A Partridge Family remake with Will Ferrell as Reuben Kinkaid??

I really don't care, but as a fan of the original show, ANYTHING would be better than the movie remake with Gary.

As a previous commenter said, it would be nice to bring even more wholesome, non-raunchy, family-friendly shows to our TV sets. However, I feel that they need to be original. It seems as if we're just being bombarded with remakes left and right.

This The Brady Bunch is a fantasy show of the past. In reality the Brady concept doesn't work.

P.S.--It's just sort of typical of all the lousy "reality" shows that are concocted these days, along with singing and dancing competitions that I also never watch. The Bradys were a saccharine representation of reality. TV is pretty much dog food these days.

REALITY, GAME, AND TALK SHOWS ARE SO MUCH CHEAPER TO PRODUCE.... VIEWERS GET WHAT THEY'RE WILLING TO WATCH. PERHAPS IF WE'D BOYCOTT THE JUNK AND DEMAND "QUALITY?"
