VH1 isn't taking any chances. The network has yanked Chad Johnson's (aka Chad Ochocinco's) upcoming reality show after the NFL wide receiver was charged with domestic battery in an incident involving his wife, "Basketball Wives" star Evelyn Lozada.

ev ocho

"Due to the unfortunate events over the weekend and seriousness of the allegations, VH1 is pulling the series ‘Ev and Ocho’ from its schedule and has no current plans of airing it," the network said in a statement on Monday. More bad news for Johnson: the Miami Dolphins has dismissed him from team.

Johnson, a former contestant on Dancing With the Stars," was arrested on Saturday after allegedly headbutting Lozada during an argument, leaving a 3-inch cut on her forehead. According to reports, Lozada claims they got into a fight after she confronted Johnson about a receipt for a box of condoms. The couple married on July 4. Do you think VH1 did the right thing?

It seems the right thing to do for Chad Johnson. He can get away from the limelight (which is a demon in and of itself), and refocus his mind on what's going to provide him with the stable future he desires. There are a lot of lessons to be learned from those who have gone before him. Football is a young man's game, and careers (and the endorsements they bring) are short. He has to go back to basics and shed the lice of fame. Look at Terrell Owens...only the latest sports star to end up broke, in prison or dead.

His pal Chris Brown (who I am sure MTV still plays) could come over and they can slap their women around together. What wholesome television for the family... Didn't Ed Schultz beat his wife too, maybe they could get him to do a kick off interview!

Yea she found the Reciept, and argued but he head butted her and according to police reports, she has a laceration on her face from it.

if they ARE together still, that's on Eve. She better not complain about him "headbutting" her again. SHE decided to stay with him.

I'll admit, I'm surprised VH1 pulled it. At least there is one network that won't put up with such things.

It's probably not so much anything as 'noble' as integrity, as it is an unwillingness to risk potential liability.

That's the same network that pulled 3 of its "top" shows ( Megan wants a Millionaire, I Love Money 3, and I Love Money 4) about 3 years ago, due the brutal murder of Jasmine Fiore.

She was married to a contestant who appeared on all 3 shows and was the main suspect in her death.

I never thought it to be about their integrity. Rather, that they would be the network unwilling to risk any sort of liability. Other networks are glad to take that risk, and VH1 isn't known for high standards.

I see I'm the only one who voted "no" in this poll.

I don't know Chad or Eve... however, I have seen Eve on her basketball wives show and she is one who is known to start confrontations, drama and probably lies..

Now, Chad? I don't know him personally, however, I don't think he should have been cut from the team because of this "domestic violence".

There was a headbutt and this is making it seem like he beat her up like crazy. It sounds like this is just an accident, but of course I could be wrong. I don't know if he's had domestic problems in the past, but if he has, why was she still with this man? They've dated for a long time and now that they're married, he all of a sudden starts "headbutting" or beating her up? Why are we just hearing about domestic violence abuse NOW with Chad?? I think there's more to this story.

I think it's wrong to cut him from the team. You don't go to fill out a job application and there be a question of whether you beat up women/men or not. Why does his team think they even have a say in this? Now, I DO understand VH1 pulling the reality show between them two. You don't want the public seeing them living their lives in the inside of their homes if something like this will be a problem.

OOPS!!! After reading the article again, I want to say, I thought this was a poll asking whether we think it's fair that Chad be cut off the team because of the Domestic Abuse thing. I was polling "no" for THAT. NOT the reality show. I'm glad they pulled the reality show!!

I guess this was a way out for them? I just think it's wrong. I haven't kept up with him and what he's been doing on the field, but I like the guy (what I've seen of him, anyway). What would they complain about? He hasn't been confrontational.

I don't really care. I'm not a fan of any team he's on.. I just like the guy's personality. Even if he was a has been, the team knew he'd bring more fans in just to see how he'd fit with the team.

Not necessarily. We got rid of him here in cinci for a reason. Our team sucked. It has for God knows how many decades.

His situation was almost like Lebron James' situation in Cleveland. I didn't blame Lebron for leaving and I'm not going to blame Chad for leaving/getting cut or whatever. Neither guy had ANY helping pieces on their team.

What are you in Pittsburgh. Come on he sucked at cincy. I know I watched him. He pretty much did nothing in NE.

I didn't blame Lebron for leaving either. One thing. Lebron still has talent.. A ton of it I may add. Chad gots nothing.

He had a gimmick. He was a whiny crying baby.

No, but you're close. I'm from philly area. How did Chad suck? He had great numbers there, no? He must not have been much of a problem because he spent a good decade in cinci.

I loved is gimmicks..lol! They made me laugh. Especially the hall of fame jacket. love him or hate him.. he made people laugh.

First year or two yes he did. No one covered him. Then he got covered and no one threw him the ball because well he didn't do much. Then he whined. Then he cried.

Look man us fans had to deal with this crappy team forever.. Then he comes and whines and cries like a little btch. He just plain didn;t have any game left after the first 2 or so years.

Why? Feel sorry for the bungels. I could always choose not to purchase tickets. I sent my season ticket back.

Home games I didn't have to watch. They weren't on TV anyway.

    I became a Steelers Fan. I couldn't be a Brown's fan.

Yeah, I read the article. I still think it may have been an accident. But even if it wasn't. I don't think his name should be dragged through the mud making it seem like he tried to kill her. I think if he wanted to hurt her he would have slapped or punched her. I don't know... Peeps would probably be surprised to read that I'm a woman because I am kinda taking Chad's side on this one. If I didn't see who Eve was on that basketball wives show, I would have rethought this.

If they didn't want to promote violence against women they wouldn't air half of those shows. Hell, it ain't episode if the women aren't throwing punches among other things at each other.

Sounds like it was just an accident. Like you said, "who does that?"

If he wanted to hurt her, he probably would have punched her or slapped her or something. I never even heard of headbutting a woman, that's why I think there's more to the story, and I think Eve (who is known for creating drama) is MAKING THIS INTO SOMETHING MORE DRAMATIC than it really is. Everybody should know she's a gold digger anyway, so she probably thinks it's payday for her, then she can divorce him and be free of him.
  • louisa Neetrab25 2012/08/15 18:38:52

Yes that's what i was thinking as well. I've never in the world heard any man of headbutting a woman, the whole story seems a bit strange to me. I do believe that chad might have done something to hurt her but headbutt? again who does that?
