VH1 isn't taking any chances. The network has yanked Chad Johnson's (aka Chad Ochocinco's) upcoming reality show after the NFL wide receiver was charged with domestic battery in an incident involving his wife, "Basketball Wives" star Evelyn Lozada.

ev ocho

"Due to the unfortunate events over the weekend and seriousness of the allegations, VH1 is pulling the series ‘Ev and Ocho’ from its schedule and has no current plans of airing it," the network said in a statement on Monday. More bad news for Johnson: the Miami Dolphins has dismissed him from team.

Johnson, a former contestant on Dancing With the Stars," was arrested on Saturday after allegedly headbutting Lozada during an argument, leaving a 3-inch cut on her forehead. According to reports, Lozada claims they got into a fight after she confronted Johnson about a receipt for a box of condoms. The couple married on July 4. Do you think VH1 did the right thing?

Seriously - he head butted his wife. I heard the 911 call from the neighbor - he indicated that she was probably going to require stitches. What man, who is any kind of a man, would do such a thing. I'm glad they yanked his reality show offer. I saw the video where he was groveling, trying to keep from losing the show. He was very apologetic then.

We can only hope that all the television networks and NFL owners maintain a level of ethics and not hire this joker for anything.

His "talent" on the football field was marginal at best anyway

Especially since there is a restraining order and the wife is filing for divorce. What would be in the reality show with just him?

A man should never hit a woman no matter how much of a big mouth bi*** Evelyn is. She has acted like a damn fool on her show more than once but doesn't deserve the abuse.

I agree with the producer's of the show because if the show would have continue to air on VH1 that would send a wrong message to women in domestic situation that this is o.k and it not . First of all it's not o.k for a man to lay his hand on any woman period. THAT MY OPINION.

I think its kind of ridiculous how everyone is guilty and punished immediately by the public before any trial happens nowadays. People can immediately have their lives destroyed by some loud mouthed liar at any moment these days. And most of that is driven by the media which usally always hypes the story far beyond the actual facts of the case. Sure, he might be guilty of this, but why not just let the justice system do its thing?

You have a point actually. I would say however when it is someone who has signed ethics and morals clauses papers he should be suspended until found not guilty. But IF he is vindicated then he should be reinstated.

Physical intimidation or violence in relationships is not allowed! Take that to the football field if that's what you want to do, with some folks who agree to it!

If he is an abuser, they hurt his partner. First, men who abuse don't take repsonsibility for their behavior, so they blame their partners when they lose stuff. Secondly, his partner will have less resources should she decide to leave.

VH1 could have used the opportunity to educate people about the real life issues surrounding domestic violence but they chose to make it worse for the alleged victim. So sad....

Their show was about a relationship. That does NOT HAPPEN in a good relationship and shouldn't be on TV as a reality show.

Any extra excuse to stay (she did it on that show and they are fine now) is not a good thing. That comes to you from someone who did have to decide to leave once.
