1. Journey is WAY underrated. They should definitely be at least in the top 70 (to be modest). To say that OutKast is better than them is an insult.
2. Who would be stupid enough to vote for Alicia Keys?!? She was only in the music business for seven or eight years the time this list was compiled. There are certainly more than 99 artists better than her (not that she's terrible or anything; just far too modern).
3. Why are Coldplay and Justin Timberlake so overrated?!? They've been in the music industry longer than Alicia, but that's no excuse for putting them in front of DEF Leppard and Janis Joplin.
4. Beyonce and Jay-Z better than Little Richard? I don't think so.
5. KISS should've been in front of Metallica hands down. First of all KISS has released more albums, sold more albums, and been around longer than Metallica. Second, KISS has merchandise for virtually EVERYTHING, including a coffin. Finally, KISS has released more huge hits than Metallica has. I give props to James Hetfield for surviving the incident in Montreal in 1992, but that's still no reason to put Metallica in front of KISS. I would've switched their rankings.
6. Radiohead is undoubtably the most overrated band on this list. They've only had one or two...

6. Radiohead is undoubtably the most overrated band on this list. They've only had one or two worthy hits, and the rest of their stuff sounds like it was written by monkeys on typewriters. Yet they were ranked in front of Aerosmith, Johnny Cash, Black Sabbath, Guns N' Roses, and all of the individual Beatles? Radiohead didn't even reach mainstream until they released "Creep"! Even then, that was pretty much the only Radiohead song that reached fans who aren't into really alterative music. In my opinion, Radiohead is closer to a one-hit wonder than one of the 100 greatest musical artists of all time.
7. There were too many artists who definitely should've made it, yet didn't: The Eagles (Who should've made the top 40), Buddy Holly, Deep Purple, Garth Brooks, Jefferson Airplane, and Grateful Dead to name a few. This may seem old-fashioned, but if this is a list of the greatest musical artists of "all time", shouldn't musicians like Beethoven, Bach, and Mozart be ranked? Just saying.
8. Not too long ago, VH1 released their list of the "100 Greatest Women In Music", yet the rankings on that list hardly matched up with this list. Madonna was still number one (of course), but here are some of the other rankings:
Sade - 30
Alicia Keys - 14
Mary J. Blige - 9
Whitney Houston - 6
Beyonce - 3
Mariah Carey - 2
Stupidly enough, legends who were on the "Greatest Artists" list (mainly Aretha Franklin, Tina Turner, Stevie Nicks, Joni Mitchell, Janis Joplin, ABBA, and Chrissie Hynde) weren't even ranked on the "Greatest Women" list! Since Aretha ranked at 27 on this list, that's basically saying that Macy Gray (who ranked at 70) should be ranked as at least the 26th greatest artist of all time. It's also saying that Nicki Minaj is better than John Lennon, which is total bull. Furthermore, the "Greatest Women" list also says that the only woman in music better than Mariah Carey is Madonna, but the "Greatest Artists" list ranks at least ten women between them. There are so many women in music who didn't even make the "Greatest Women" list who should've ranked in front of Mariah (such as Joan Jett, Pat Benatar, Cyndi Lauper, Diana Ross, Dolly Parton, and Grace Slick) but didn't get their due from VH1.
These are just eight of the reasons I believe this list is seriously messed up. Most of the other reasons are more on a personal level, so I decided not to post them. Besides, this post is already long enough (sorry about that).
I want to point out that I'm not trying to dis any musical artists in this post. I deeply question Radiohead's success, but I'm not trying to say that they're terrible. I apologize if anyone takes any kind of insult to this post.
I'd also like to note that The Ramones and Al Green are switched on this list; if you don't believe me, look it up on YouTube.
Lastly, I urge you to reply to this comment if you want to debate any of the material I've typed. Everybody has a different taste in music, so please reply if you want to.
