It's not often that you hear about dads winning custody of their kids, but Usher was awarded primary physical custody of his two sons on Friday after a heated battle with his ex-wife, The Associated Press reports.

The R & B star, 33, will have primary custody of 4-year-old Usher Raymond V and 3-year-old Naviyd Ely Raymond. His ex-wife, Tameka Foster Raymond, will have joint legal custody. Usher and Tameka married in 2007 and divorced two years later. In May, Usher testified that Tameka spit at and tried to fight with his girlfriend during one visit and that she hit him during the dispute, the AP reports. Tameka Raymond's attorney said Usher provoked her client.
It's unlikely that we'll ever really know what went down in Usher's marriage and divorce -- and who would make the better primary parent. But assuming that Usher is the better primary parent, should he get custody? Or should custody go to moms in most cases?

Too often courts decided on the mother's side only to have it end in disaster because they were afraid to break the status quo.
If you are a better dad than the mother is a mother...'
go for it....
if your not.... then just please be there for them...
it's a bigger blessing than ya' might think....!!
People tend to forget that it takes two to make a child and fathers do have a personal attachment to their child and are not just there to help the mother out financially and then get pushed aside.
and yes its true, no matter what anyone says its been a very uneven playing field when it comes to who has more rights as a parent.. Mother's have had the law on their side a vast majority of the time. But, things are becoming more and more level all the time.

Mid life crisis used to be primarily and man thing but thats not the case any more.
And if it's at all possible, joint custody should also be considered.
