You might know Uggie from his roles in "Mr. Fix It," "Water for Elephants," and "The Artist." For the latter role, fans campaigned to have the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences grant the 10-year-old an honorary Oscar for his work. Turns out, they were barking up the wrong tree. Uggie was denied by the AMPAS, and by BAFTA. Why? Because Uggie is a dog. A Jack Russell Terrier, to be more specific. But his lack of opposable thumbs didn't stop him from getting a book deal.
According to The Washington Post, Uggie recently sold his memoir, "Uggie: My Story," to Gallery Books, a division of Simon & Schuster. He typed up the original manuscript himself on a continuous 120-foot scroll, in three weeks, while hopped up on Beggin' Strips... Just kidding. It's being "ghost written" by Wendy Holden, who also worked on memoirs by actress Goldie Hawn, World War II spy Marthe Cohn, and former Eagles guitarist Don Felder. "Uggie: My Story" is due out this October. Do you think the idea is sweet or silly?

It sounds like a cute book.
Few celebrities actually author their own books nowadays.

On important questions, I'll read the whole description before commenting.
On goofy ones like these, I often don't bother because the details rarely matter. :)
