As expected, "The Hunger Games" dominated this year's MTV Movie Awards. The blockbuster based on Suzanne Collins' best-selling novel won four of the event's 10 primary awards: Best Female Performance, Best Male Performance, Best On-Screen Transformation, and Best Fight. However, it did not win the top honor. Movie of the Year went to "The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part I."

Aside from the crown jewel, "Twilight" only won a single award: Best Kiss. It must have been one hell of a kiss. The remaining awards were one-offs: "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part II" (Best Cast), "The Descendants" (Breakthrough Performance), "Horrible Bosses" (Best On-Screen Dirt Bag; way to go Aniston), "21 Jump Street" (Best Music), and "Project X" (Instant Cult Classic). Johnny Depp and Emma Stone also got special tribute awards. Do you think "Twilight" deserved to beat "The Hunger Games"?

I'm more pissed that Twilight beat Harry Potter than Hunger Games. Twilight winning anything is absurd.

Yeah, I find Twilight fans over usually overly defensive.

I'm the same way. I don't like romance stories, but I was okay with it in the book and movie of The Hunger Games.

My vote isn't FOR "Hunger Games" it's against "Twilight". I haven't seen Hunger Games, but I know it's better than sparkly vampires and angsty werewolves.

Hunger games is a story about loss, tragedy, and surviving against all odds and Harry Potter is a imaginative story about good vs evil that lost to...Twilight....a stupid melodramatic vampire soap opera.....can you say, FIXED RESULTS??

I liked Hunger Games, but I like Twilight more. I also liked Snow White better than Hunger Games. The Snow White with Kristen Stewart, not the original, but I like that better than the Hunger Games too!

I feel bad because I haven't watched either movies. However, I think the story of the Hunger Games is more compelling than Twilight's. Then again, that doesn't really matter at this awards ceremony!

Either way, I'm just peeved that "Harry Potter" lost to "Twilight" for Best Kiss! If you know about Ron and Hermione's relationship and where they were at in the story, you'd probably agree. Also who the hell has a make-out session as a wedding kiss?

I personally am not a part of the 'hype' that went into this movie, but it was outstandingly better than any of the Twilight movies.

I think it's fair that twilight won, people have been in love with the books & movies for the past 4 years so of course it's gonna have a ton of loyal fans/followers to vote for them.. but I'm betting the same thing is going to happen when the next hunger games movies come out, it's gonna get so much bigger.

While the first few minutes of Hunger Games was almost unwatchable due to poor camera work, its sill leaps and bounds better than Twilight. Hunger Games had a compelling plot, stirred up conversation on societal issues, and an amazing all around cast. Twilight has... it has... well there was... You could say it has...

i absolutely hate to say it, because i love the Hunger Games series, but the movie really was horrible. it didn't do the book justice at all, and at least twilight sucked just as much as the book originally did. I was really really disappointed in the Hunger Games movie..
