As expected, "The Hunger Games" dominated this year's MTV Movie Awards. The blockbuster based on Suzanne Collins' best-selling novel won four of the event's 10 primary awards: Best Female Performance, Best Male Performance, Best On-Screen Transformation, and Best Fight. However, it did not win the top honor. Movie of the Year went to "The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part I."

Aside from the crown jewel, "Twilight" only won a single award: Best Kiss. It must have been one hell of a kiss. The remaining awards were one-offs: "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part II" (Best Cast), "The Descendants" (Breakthrough Performance), "Horrible Bosses" (Best On-Screen Dirt Bag; way to go Aniston), "21 Jump Street" (Best Music), and "Project X" (Instant Cult Classic). Johnny Depp and Emma Stone also got special tribute awards. Do you think "Twilight" deserved to beat "The Hunger Games"?

I'm more pissed that Twilight beat Harry Potter than Hunger Games. Twilight winning anything is absurd.

I used to HATE Twilight because everybody was reading it and i didnt want to go with the flow, but i had nothing to do last summer so i went ahead and gave twilight a chance and i actually loved the books (i love to read) theyre pretty good books and my favorite is the last one. the movies arent great but theyre not utterly awful i can stand to watch one. But i was hoping that Hunger Games would get the award, even though i havent read the book i thought the movie was amazing and more entertaining than twilight (its getting old)

hunger games is exiting and awesome. twilight makes me want to get katniss to put one of her bows through my eye!

but Harry potter should of won more!! so pissed they didnt beat everyone out :'(

I actually like both the movies and the books! Of course, the book Twilight was better than the movie. I guess I would have to say Hunger Games was better than Twilight! The acting seemed better in Hunger Games.

well all I got to say is I give the MTV movie awards one more chance and it again failed so after this year unit The twilight movies are over I will not be watching next year it might get worst with breaking dawn part 2 beating the dark knight rises at next year mtv movie awards oh bye the way it sucked that either harry potter or the hunger games didn't win best movie.

I'm just going to get this out there: the Twilight movies were awful. And when I say 'awful', I mean they were worse than the books. Personally, I don't think Twilight ever deserved to win an award, unless the award went along the lines of 'Cheesiest Movie That Only Someone With Extreme Social Defectiveness Would Actually Watch Repeatedly'. That's probably offensive to some people, so I'll just go ahead and apologize now. But, ehh, you know..

How the f*ck did that happen? So THG snagged the primary awards and BD won "Best Kiss" (that shouldn't even be a legitimate category) yet BD won Movie of the Year? Well, that's MTV for you.

The Oscars are looking better and better every day, aren't they? At least they acknowledge talent. And have judges that actually KNOW about what makes a good film.

Also, I've seen THG. I didn't think it was mindblowing, but I liked it a hell of a lot more than any of the Twilight films.

I usually hate romance so much I want to throw something, but I was okay with it in The Hunger Games. Have you noticed that almost all the Twilight fans who answered this question are being really freaking rude?
