Transgender Miss Universe Finalist Jenna Talackova May Be Able to Compete After All: Biggest Beauty Pageant Scandal?
Transgender beauty queen Jenna Talackova (right) was disqualified last month as a finalist from the upcoming Miss Universe Canada pageant, because she was born male. However, Miss Universe may reverse its decision.
In 1983, the singer was crowned Miss America, becoming the first African American to win the title. But when nude photos surfaced, she was forced to resign.
After she won the Miss USA pageant in 2006, Conner was accused of underage drinking, drug use and wild partying -- but Miss USA co-owner Donald Trump gave her a second chance.
Miss California USA 2009 famously spoke against gay marriage. Later, a solo sex tape emerged, which she said was created when she was 17 for her then-boyfriend.

Miss Nevada USA 2007 was supposed to compete in the Miss USA pageant, but she was dethroned when racy nightclub photos emerged.
After being named 3rd runner-up in the Miss Teen USA '08 pageant, Evans (right) was arrested for leaving a restaurant without paying. She then went BACK to the restaurant to find her purse -- and her marijuana.
The 23-year-old, who was born male, was disqualified last month as a finalist from the upcoming Miss Universe Canada pageant. However, Donald Trump's Miss Universe Organization announced on Monday that it might reverse its earlier decision and let her compete, The Associated Press reports.
The rules of the contest say entrants must be "naturally born" females. Talackova says she has lived her life as a female since age 4, began hormone therapy at 14 and changed sex at 19.
But not long after Talackova announced her plans to hold a news conference with scandal-magnet lawyer Gloria Allred on Tuesday, the Miss Universe Organization said in a statement on the Miss Universe Canada website that Talackova can compete "provided she meets the legal gender recognition requirements of Canada, and the standards established by other international competitions."
