Maverick, Iceman, Goose … 1986's megahit "Top Gun" is the best possible example of '80s cheese. And yes, we still watch it every time it's on TV.

Very sad news coming out of Hollywood: "Top Gun" director Tony Scott died Sunday after jumping from a Los Angeles bridge, authorities said -- and the death is being investigated as a suicide. The married father of two was 68 years old.
"I can confirm that Tony Scott has passed away. The family asks that their privacy is respected at this time," Scott's spokesman, Simon Halls, said in a statement, according to The Associated Press.
Scott jumped from the Vincent Thomas Bridge spanning San Pedro and Terminal Island in Los Angeles Harbor, according to police. A suicide note was later found at his office, The Los Angeles Times reports.
The director, who was born in England, was "Alien" director Ridley Scott's younger brother. Among his action-packed films, Scott directed "Days of Thunder," "Beverly Hills Cop II" and, most recently, "Unstoppable," starring Denzel Washington. He was married to actress Donna Scott, with whom he had twin sons.

There were plenty of Whitney Houston questions right after her death, just for example.
Any way it's viewed - it is still tasteless and inconsiderate of the dead and their families to push someones accomplishments ahead of the VERY recent loss - especially to the public.
Regarding WH - yes you're right there WERE plenty of questions 'right after' her death.....MOST were
'who, what, where, WHY she died......followed as the days progressed, by
her accomplishments - that's just common courtesy and respect.
I DO think the particular wording used in this question could have been seriously improved upon.
"creasy's art is death, and he's about to paint his masterpiece."
