Forbes has just released its annual ranking of the highest-earning former "American Idol" contestants, and Kelly Clarkson has regained the top spot. The original "Idol" has knocked Carrie Underwood -- who was last year's top earner -- into second place, thanks to the $8 million she earned from May 2011 to May 2012. Not only did Kelly's latest album, "Stronger," do big business, but she also earned plenty from TV appearances and touring.

Underwood tied for second with Chris Daughtry, who has suffered from poor albums sales but but managed to make up for it with ticket sales. Season 10 winner Scott McCreery came in third, just ahead of Jennifer Hudson, despite her lucrative move into film acting, an industry that also helped Jordin Sparks into fifth place thanks to her role in the movie "Sparkle."
Coming in sixth is Adam Lambert, who made $1.5 million from TV appearances and touring, despite the weak performance of his album "Trespassing." So, from all the past "Idols," who's your favorite?

But, she performed at the inaugural, so, I lost all respect for her.
Although in my opinion most of his stuff is mere elevator music he is a commendable musician in his own right and has released some songs I find hard not to get out of my head at times.
Even in Idol he pushed his own input and from album 2 started to get real control over his own composition.
