Tom Cruise offers a Top Gun 2 update

Back in December, Tom Cruise confirmed that he will be a part of Top Gun 2,
although we haven't heard much about the sequel since then. The actor
offered a brief update on the project, revealing he still wants to
return as Pete "Maverick" Mitchell.

"We're
working on it. We'll see what happens, if I can figure out the script
and if we get it. It will be fun getting in those jets. I want to fly
those jets."

We reported in March that Peter Craig (The Town) is writing the screenplay, with Tony Scott directing and Jerry Bruckheimer prodcuing. Paramount Pictures president Adam Goodman also revealed in April that they will likely make this sequel before a follow-up to Mission: Impossible Ghost Protocol.

Top Gun 2 comes to theaters in 2013. The film is directed by Tony Scott.

Wow that movie was in 1986 so that's 26 years ago. If he's going to still be in the Navy he'll probably be a Captain or Admiral in the movie or retired.
