Celeb gossip addicts appear to be as dazzled by the Tom Cruise-Katie Holmes divorce as they were by the unlikely romance to begin with. So, consider us obsessed! And the big question on everyone's minds is: Which Hollywood parent should get Suri Cruise?

Katie dropped a bombshell on Tom when she filed for sole legal custody of 6-year-old Suri. And now, the custody question is the main thing holding up an amicable settlement, TMZ reports. A source told the gossip site that Tom wants "meaningful, significant contact with his daughter." As one source explained: "She is the primary concern in his life."

We're also hearing that Tom and Katie had a pre-nup, so his pre-Katie fortune should be pretty much safe. But Katie can ask for as much child support as she wants. And for a little girl who's been wearing high heels and ball gowns since infancy, we have a feeling those monthly checks are going to be pretty large! We haven't read anything suggesting that Tom hasn't been a great dad, so we're not sure that Katie should be awarded sole legal custody as she requested. What do you think?

Keeping her daughter out of the cult is crucial. Look what happened when the Kidman/Cruise kids were granted joint custody. Scientology defectors claim they saw and took part in brainwashing designed to make the kids believe that Kidman was a psychopath. If Cruise gets joint custody, and therefore the right to make religious decisions for the child, it's highly likely that the same thing would happen again.

Saying Scientology is no more "brainwashing" than traditional religions. .is like saying Kwaansa and Festivus are as much real holidays as Yom Kippur and Christmas.

Traditional religions aren't exactly a cult. I understand what you mean, but I think Scientology is a lot worse than for example Buddhism. I'm also an atheist, but I don't have anything against religions. On the contrary, I think a lot of people get a lot of support from the thought that there is a God. It's things like the Church I hate, all they do is manipulate and take away freedom. They do the brainwashing and are more like cults, not the religion in itself.

The law is gender biased in my opinion in these such matters. Judges repeatedly put kids with the mother beause she's the mother.
I hope they give Suri the 50-50 deal but if it's up to a judge he'll put her with Katie.

If Katie is declared Suppressive by Tom's church (very likely), he will be obligated to keep Suri away from her at all costs and if needed in defiance of court order. It has happened before when Scientology marriages break up: children get shipped out of country until they are adult and have been persuaded that "suppressives" are evil. I advise that Tom have no unsupervised visitations. Katie's relatives and lawyers: be careful what you say in public, to new "friends" and over phones, and of what you throw in the trash.

I take it back. Katie Holmes should have custody. Otherwise, in 10 years, you'll have Suri cruise saying that aliens populated the earth some 200 years ago and jumping on sofa's asking to go and see her next movie

I'm between 'Katie Holmes' and the '50-50' tbh. I, basically, at least think that Cruise should have near free access to his daughter. As someone who's parents divorced when I was 5, I can vouch for how important it is for both parents, barring druggies, abusers, and others of like reputation, to be actively and equally involved in their child's life. It's what's best for Suri, imo. However, if all the crazy stuff about Scientology is true, then Cruise's influence should stop there.

I think Tom should get custody of his daughter Suri. Cause it would be a very major thing in his life to have his daughter with him all the time. The one thing I don't like is about how much Katie can get as much Child Support as she wants from Tom. That I think is very unacceptable and I dislike it.

I say Katie since it is customary for the mother to get custody unless she is unfit and there is no indication that she is a bad mother. Plus, Tom is off into some weird mess. I don't care what anyone else thinks!

Tom and Katie should share custody of Suri because they both brought her into this world. Hopefully they be civilize about the custody of their child,Suri is the most important person right now. It's not about Tom and Katie,it's about Suri!
