After more than five years of marriage, superstar couple Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes are filing for divorce. While Cruise, 49, is no stranger to divorce -- this will be his third after Mimi Rogers and Nicole Kidman -- Holmes, 33, will be losing her first marriage. The couple has one kid together, 6-year-old Suri Cruise.

Holmes' attorney told People, "This is a personal and private matter for Katie and her family. Katie's primary concern remains, as it always has been, her daughter's best interest." No other information is available, and they'd probably like to keep it that way. It's kind of amazing they were able to avoid break-up rumors for this long. But we're sure some more details will come to light. Are you surprised about the Katie Homes / Tom Cruise split? Or do you think it's a part of the gig when you become a celeb?

They have too many long separations while making movies,or for musicians, it's the long touring schedules that put a strain on the relationships.

Doing film work which is super strenuous, and having all the money to afford pretty much of anything is rugged to say the least. Yeah life for them is extreme. I mean compared to a roofer working in 103F heat for 8 hrs, handling 50lb bundles of roofing or his wife who may be a teacher with 30 kids in the class and daily assignments to correct along with their own children and house cleaning and meals etc, those stars are a big concern, NOT

Fighting the celebrity status quo. of being expected to screw around with your co-stars. studios and people making out like you are to add hype to openings or feed their little rumor mills. It would be a nightmare.

It's not hard at all. The problem is it's never for love, it's for publicity. Do you think celebs really care for each other? Not these days, anyway.

I don't even understand why most celebs tie the knot. Their morals are usually looser than the average person, they are often hit upon by the opposite sex, their work causes them to be apart from their spouse for long periods. Marraige should be avoided until they get out of the business, in my opinion.

Yes, over half are not as bright as the upper half of the average U.S. high School graduates. Yes, this is true, they may be good at drama and acting but they aren’t a bunch of intelligent people as a whole.

Did you hear Cher Bozo’s explanation on why a large percentage of people have issues with President Obama and his W.H.?

Even a liberal invited to speak on Fox a day later would not defend her and had the conservative media watching and in their reach. They normally chastised Fox on a liberal HollyWood person's behalf.

Maybe he should try to find someone shorter than he is that pocesses a brain and quit social climbing with a new fake goddess on his arm.
