After more than five years of marriage, superstar couple Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes are filing for divorce. While Cruise, 49, is no stranger to divorce -- this will be his third after Mimi Rogers and Nicole Kidman -- Holmes, 33, will be losing her first marriage. The couple has one kid together, 6-year-old Suri Cruise.Holmes' attorney told People, "This is a personal and private matter for Katie and her family. Katie's primary concern remains, as it always has been, her daughter's best interest." No other information is available, and they'd probably like to keep it that way. It's kind of amazing they were able to avoid break-up rumors for this long. But we're sure some more details will come to light. Are you surprised about the Katie Homes / Tom Cruise split? Or do you think it's a part of the gig when you become a celeb?
That paper is trash which is why I never buy it. Many celebrities have sued them but that filth keeps on printing garbage.
Ahhh, I like areas of I.B.
First time I am actually meeting someone from my city! Thats cool!
Isn't it crazy down there with high traffic and the one way streets?
What's hard to do is for an attractive 33 year old women to stay married to a weirdo control freak that is 16 years older than her.
In general over 55% of marriages end in divorce within the first 5 years. I doubt that celebs are any worse or better.
The government incentivizes people to not marry. There is the Marriage Penalty for Income Tax, discrepancy under the ACT (Obamacare), and the difference in Welfare Benefits. Medicaid, etc. (so now over 40% of first babies are born to unwed mothers).
Seniors are divorcing prior to filing for Social Security Benefits as they receive more as 2 single people than as a married couple. They stay together, but not legally married. Single Seniors are also opting to live together rather than marry and lose on Social Security Benefits. (Some churches perform marriage ceremonies before God, but not legal marriage by the States).
Second marriages have an even higher divorce rate and third marriages even higher still. Just check the US Bureau of Census and of Vital Statistics. It's all there.
I just stare
maybe I don't know
If I should change
A feeling that we share
It's a shame
such a shame
Then you have the competition thing when both partners are celebs.
They should have some sort of Temporary Marriage Agreement.... :)
