As if "Toddlers & Tiaras" wasn't getting enough criticism as it is, TLC is getting ready to air a six-episode spinoff series called "Here Comes Honey Boo Boo," starring Alana Thompson from the original series. The series will focus on Thompson's family life, instead of the world of toddler beauty pageants, so critics of the original series might find something a little more substantial. Maybe.

The Thompson family consists of dad "Sugar Bear," mom June, 17-year-old "Chickadee," 15-year-old "Chubbs," 12-year-old "Pumpkin," and of course, 6-year-old Alana. TLC describes them as "unapologetically outrageous" -- just what reality TV junkies want to see. The show airs August 8. But does this sound any better than "Toddlers & Tiaras" or is it just furthering its negative aspects?

I feel this show is a bad example for these little girls,they are growing up to fast. Dressing them up like little women,let them enjoy being a child. What is this world coming too? The narcissistic generation? Perfection,no one is perfect, everyone has flaws!

What's really depressing here is that there is unbelievable outrage over parents who go insane at kid sports and it's highlighted as deplorable on the evening news. However, these shows, which take advantage of children's naivete are allowed, if not encouraged to flourish.

What's wrong with that picture?

She's not at all pretty. Why do they paint and dress them up like a street walker? Let their natural beauty show through and judge them on that, nothing else. If I had my way they wouldn't exploit these children this way. Same on the parents.

I do not like reality tv much at all...but Toddler and Tiaras is the worst...right up there with that Dance Moms, and the shrew who is the teacher...WOW, cable, with one crappy show after another....and these kids are just brats...

If teaching children to be vain and dressing them up like tiny little whores is a good thing, I'll shoot myself in the foot!!!

I had 3 daughters, and the thought of one of them ending up like that Ramsey girl makes me sick to my stomach. These people would freak out if a sex offender moved into their neighborhood, but they don't hesitate to put their children on display for them. Who do you think the biggest audience for these shows is? No I don't have numbers to show you, but it's logic people, think about it, these pageants would be like soft-core porn for a pedophile...

If not the pageants themselves, then the televising of them should be illegal.

You would think people would have learned something from the Ramsey tragedy. The mother becomes insanely jealous of the daughter and loses it. That is what I believe happened and I am scared it will happen again.

Turning little girls into sex objects is sick. Putting it on TV says a lot about American propaganda toward woman in general in this country. Little baby female human "calf's" growing up to be bigger female human "cows" for all male perverts and abusers to continue looking at the female gender as a toy, a joke. Until the men in this society stand up and protect their children this will continue. Rape continues to happen to 3 out of 5 girls in America. Real cute :/

I personally think T&T; was at best tacky and at worst kiddie porn of the worst sort, with mothers trying to turn those little girls into mini-hookers for pedophiles to drool over. That this trash is still on the air and with a spin-off to boot shows how disgusting American TV has become.
