Tell me the books you love, the books you hate, books you couldn't put down, books you couldn't finish. Let's celebrate our love of books, and if you don't love books, that's okay, you can go play some place else.
I can't even imagine my life without books, so I could never list all my favorites. One of my proudest moments as a child, was getting my first library card when I was five or six; I was SO excited, to have so many to choose from. Two of my favorites:
Wonderful post! I am an avid reader, always have been from the age of 25 when I decided to go to College and discovered that not only could I have a step up on the ladder of life I could travel the world as we know it from the beginning of mankind (history) till today. I read everything I can get my hands on about this planet from the diverse cultures to the basics of physical anatomy. Books are education, a food group for thought, an adventure like no other that stimulates all senses. Books are the wings of language that connect mankind and all other animals togeather. One of my favorites is "A Reason For Living" By: Jane Goodall. No matter where I go my 753 books go with me. They are like old friends that I can always visit again ;-)
The Road Less Traveled--Scott Peck
The Merchants of Despair--Robert Zubrin
A Bunch of Amateurs--Jack Hitt
Fingerprints of the Gods--Graham Hancock
Dr. Mary's Monkey--Edward Haslam
The Bible--God (putatively)
The Talmud--the Jews
The Koran--Mohammad
Tons of others too numerous to mention. . .:-)
I love Harry Potter/ Percy Jackson/ The secret diary of Adrian Mole. I hate Twilight (and unlike most twilight haters, I did try and read the first book but at chapter 5 I couldn't take it any more). I've just started reading The Hunger games and that's pretty good so far.
