Banking on the success of his latest film, "Avatar," director James Cameron will release a 3-D version of his record-breaking 1997 film "Titanic" next year.
According to USA Today, "Titanic" will be re-released in theaters on April 6, 2012 -- the 100th anniversary of the sailing of the Titanic.
According to USA Today, "Titanic" will be re-released in theaters on April 6, 2012 -- the 100th anniversary of the sailing of the Titanic.
Cameron wrote in a statement, "There's a whole generation that's never seen Titanic as it was meant to be seen, on the big screen. And this will be Titanic as you've never seen it before, digitally re-mastered at 4K and painstakingly converted to 3D. With the emotional power intact and the images more powerful than ever, this will be an epic experience for fans and newcomers alike."
So, Cameron is basically saying that, even though true fans have already seen the movie at least 70 times, he knows that those fans have kids, and those kids are now old enough to pay money to see it themselves.
He also wants you to know how painstaking it was to convert it to 3-D, because that was clearly necessary.

That sucks badly.I'm outta here.
I don't think it will turn out to be a big ripoff like Avatar when Cameron re-released it with added insignificant footage.
I love you top of the world im flying
we hit something
Screw you im outta here
I guess he thinks he can pull a similar act that George Lucas did with the revamping first three Star Wars movies and a new marketing campaign.
