Supercar, Fireball XL5, Stingray, Captain Scarlett, all really fun. Supermarionation was a hoot. He was also responsible for Space 1999 and UFO, both enjoyable live-action shows.
Gonna miss him.

Gerry Anderson, the man who created the beloved puppet TV show "Thunderbirds" with his wife Sylvia, has died at the age of 83. According to the BBC, his son Jamie says that Anderson died in his sleep around noon on Wednesday.
"Thunderbirds" made its British TV debut in 1965 and ran for two seasons, and was then picked up for syndication in the U.S. and charmed international audiences with its futuristic plots, memorable characters and unusual style; the action was performed using marionette puppets in a style Anderson called "Supermarionation."

Nick Williams of the Fanderson fan club said that "To those who met him Gerry was a quiet, unassuming but determined man," and added that "Gerry's legacy is that he inspired so many people and continues to bring so much joy to so many millions of people around the world."
As well as "Thunderbirds," Anderson created "Stingray," "Captain Scarlet and the Mysterons" and the live action show "Space:1999." Are you a fan of "Thunderbirds?"

RIP Gerry Anderson.
Gonna miss him.
Talk about escaping into TV fantasy.
I like THUNDERBIRDS and MYSTERIONS too, but they never got much play in my area while I was growing up, and I could only enjoy them when I visited relatives in Pennsylvania and Michigan.
My sympathies to the Anderson family, and my thanks to Mr Anderson for many hours of great entertainment.
