Thoughts on 'The Pacific'?

Did you see the first episode of The Pacific? It was a let down for me. I was hoping they would at least do as decent a job as they had with ' TheBand of Brothers'.
Maybe it'll pick up, but it seemed like the producers and directors were trying to pick up some easy bucks with this one. I didn't care for the anti-war messages in several spots. I don't need HBO to tell me war is bad, just tell it like it really happened.
