No one's going to say it? fine, I WILL! I am irritated that people only
care about a failing celeb after they die. Houston was plagued by
tabloids that some of YOU PEOPLE read on a daily basis, encouraging the
authors to continue pushing the envelope of personal privacy for
whatever reason... Then people got tired of her and she became just an
afterthought. Now, NOW everyone buys her CD's and is a
distraught superfan? Where were you when she was struggling, needing to
know that people still enjoyed her voice and talents? It ANNOYING!! K, I
realize I sound like I'm a lot more mad then I truly am. I just am
getting tired of everyone being pseudo-sad for the moment, like they did
with Michael Jackson. (NOT A JACKSON FAN.)

I think I understand your vent, but am more concerned about the tendency of people to do that even about those they know and supposedly care about. It does seem to be a human trait, to make a bigger deal about somebody when they die, sadly.

I know what your saying... I don't buy the tabloids and I will confess I haven't thought of Whitney in a while, and her passing made me realize how much I like her music and how important it was when I was in high school... my friends on facebook and I have been talking about the things we used to do (work, dance, party...) with her music. She will be missed.

I spoke to a friend of mine last night and he reminded me of a time we were driving and Whitney came on the radio... "I want to dance with somebody"... I pulled over and we got out and danced... I had forgotten about it... but now... it seems like yesterday...

You actually touched on a topic which often bothers me. I think much of the outpouring of concern and compassion when things like this tragedy occur are so pretentious, people expressing compassion not because they feel it in their hearts but because they think it is what is expected of them.

Yes, that seems to be the case, but every once in a while I am encouraged when I see that there are still some people who are able to think for themselves and not feel it necessary to just go with the herd. So, thank you for the reminder Flowers

It truly is irritating. I liked her voice but I was never a fan and never will be, more than likely, and I won't pretend to be because she happens to be dead now. Rest in peace, yes, but it doesn't mean I really care.

I think the ones with the biggest problems get murdered by all the fame, it just takes different people to finally leave. So sad, if only they didn't make so much money maybe things wouldn't be so temptingly accessible

I don't know that it was the fame and the money as much as who it was she chose to have in her life. It seems like the ones who have good support systems do okay, but others who only have those who want to use them don't do so well.

I have a hard time feeling sorry for people who have the whole world at their finger tips and throw it away. It doesn't make it any less sad, but it's just a waste.

Money and fame isn't to blame. Sure it makes things more accessible but ultimately it is the person's choice. With whom they associate with and what they do.
