This is a new story. There was no original Three Stooges movie (not even the Norman Maurer films with Joe De Rita). Nor does this look anything like the ego-driven travesties we've come to expect this last decade, with projects like Starsky & Hutch or 21 Jump Street that bear no resemblance to the works they ostensibly reprise.

Me and my brothers are working on a remake of this number. We're 20 years older, melanin-challenged, and we can't sing or dance. BUT WE'VE GOT heart...issues:)

No way. I have seen when they try to re-create classic characters before- it never works- and the shtick will not fit the times. Remember how hideous the little Rascals remake was?

    There was only one Curly

I doubt it. Hollyweird remakes leave a lot to be desired.

Someone should give a sound beating to all the folks who have been crapping all over nostalgic properties the last decade or so. But this is not the same people, it's the Farrellys. They have proven they know funny, and done work in the same vein as the Stooges -- without relying on familiar names to get themselves over.

I hope Stooges fans won't be so discouraged by all the crap that's come down from Hollywood that they don't give this a chance.

Just like everything else, they will throw in some dick and fart jokes and ruin it. That POS movie, The Little Rascals, was the same way.

You might be right about the fart jokes or something, I don't know. The Farrellys did not make the Little Rascals movie, though, or anything of the sort. They made Dumb & Dumber, Shallow Hal, Kingpin, and Me, Myself and Irene. So, yeah, they are not above being crude, but they know funny and they legitimately dig classic physical comedy.

The Farellys have proven they can do original concepts. They are not just trying to get themselves over by crapping on something nostalgic like all the idiots who have been making remakes and reprisals for the last decade or two. It's a shame that they still have to overcome the low expectations instilled by that kind of garbage, even though they have never been part of it.

    Absolutely NOT at all ..

Begs the question .. WHY even attempt this in the first place .. obviously .. Hollywood has nothing to offer at all anymore .. time to put it out of business.

I thought it was perfect timing. When The Stooges first came out in the 30s, It was during the Great Depression & WW II. Tough times for America; The Stooges brought a smile to people's faces during a difficult period of American History. Like Now

Poor timing indeed .. this is nothing more than trying to bootstrap off the success of the classics .. nothing more ..
Time for Hollywood to get what it deserves .. to go out of business ..
Because they've proven over and over again .. during the past decade/plus ..
That there's absolutely nothing original in their efforts ..
and Flash/Bang, CGI, Noise .. can NOT cover for a complete LACK of talent in the so-called /acting/ crowd ..

My sons and I were just talking and everything we learned we read or someone told us. No one can replace them. AMC has been playing the Stooges at 11PM Pacific. They have had a few episodes we haven't seen. It's HD too. The Stooges were or the producers; we noticed all the their clothes were ironed and clean. I seen Moe in an episode wearing a pinstripe suit. Pants had creases and taylored.

THAT is just part of the REASON Why they were such geniuses .. they not only acted well .. but the care with which they presented their characters showed in every way ..
No 'whiz-bang' .. no CGI .. no canned noise .. just SHEER TALENT .. and a true desire to show professionalism in their works ..

If you actually like the Stooges kind of humour, and can get over any misguided loyalty to performers who can't be resurrected any other way, you may be pleasantly surprised by this one.

If you just hate the original Stooges. Well, you are not alone. But you probably don't care for anything the Farrelly brothers have done either, right?

Heard the quips from the advertisement .. it does absolutely nothing at all ..
Farellys -- like so many in the hollywood crowd nowadays .. can't even come close to being faint shadows of the greats of old ..
their timing is off .. the acting is not even worthy of being on film ..
The originals .. have and always will be masters of this form of comedic efforts ..

So glad to see such a following for such talented individuals who really were committed to their ART .. they exuded their talent .. their pride in their Craft .. each time they went out to perform (and not a bit of it canned or CGI)

I haven't looked into the credits on IMDB, but I know Mel Gibson has wanted to do a Stooges flick for a LOOOOONG time.
Remember the bit from Lethal Weapon when he shot the aquarium?
    He's a Stooges fan.
