A question like this should have a 3rd answer choice -- one that goes something like this:
"I have no idea -- because I'm not a substance-abuse rehab professional, I am not familiar with this guy's problem or his treatment, and quite frankly, it's pretty silly of Sodahead to be asking us about things on which we have no basis to form an intelligent opinion.*

Lord help us.
Everyday is a struggle and it does matter what it is , food, drugs alcoholism . You have everything to deal with it it's never going to be good, unless you can control it. So as far as too soon yes, because it's a struggle everyday only you know when your ready to kick the habit and some people never are.
Rehab, as a general rule, has very low success rates if your are talking 100% sobriety for life. They have good success if you look at it this way: He stopped drinking and doing drugs for a few weeks... and may not do as much, as often for a few more months. This is a good thing right? Or a 'better thing'.
I have no idea coz I am not a drug-alcohol abuser or something.

It's really an easy question.
