'The Office' Will End After This Season: Awww or About Time?

Sad news, "Office" fans. "The Office" will close shop after the upcoming ninth season, after record low ratings last season.

"This year feels like the last chance to really go out together and make an artistic ending for the show that pays off a lot of the stuff that matters most to fans," executive producer Greg Daniels told reporters. "And we’re planning a very big exciting last season. We’re going to have a lot of faces coming back," he said.

As for the current cast, Daniels explained that they "couldn’t count on getting everybody back for season 10," which also explains why the show is wrapping up. Last season was the first one without Steve Carell, and clearly, the show slipped without its big star. Do you think it's time for "The Office" to punch out? Or are you sad to see the funny show go?

    I really like The Office, but it hasn't been the same without Steve Carell. While it's sad that it's coming to a close, it's probably for the better.

    I never watched it, lol. But I'm guessing it went downhill after Steve Carell left...? If that's the case, then I'm not surprised.

    This moronic show ranks way up there with disasters like "My mother the car" which is often ranked as the worst ever tv show of all time. Where Jerry Van Dyke (brother of famous DickVan dyke) had the lead role and stumpled into a used car lot only to discover his deceased mother was now embodied as some old junker car.



    I HATE the Office. It is stupid, moronic, the acting is pathetic, there is no comedy and it is more interesting to watch a pad of butter melt in a frying pan than watch the juvenile antics of this show obviously aimed at adults with the mentality of 10 year olds.

    They managed to find their stride again after a bit, but it's better than just fading into mediocrity (says the person with the Simpsons avatar).

    The show was still funny, despite suffering from the loss of their lead. I think they did a decent job piecing it back together. But the show has gone on for a while, the characters have had their major arcs, and if it goes on for too much longer, it is bound to jump the shark. I'm sad it's ending, but it has also probably told the story it wanted to tell.

    I can't believe it has been on this long. I have never been able to stomach a full episode of this trash. I truly believe that people loose IQ points just flipping channels as it goes by.

    They have run some great TV shows into the ground in the past. M*A*S*H, Cheers, the endless 'I Love Lucy' spinoffs, etc. Lately, 'How I Met Your Mother,' whether folk agree with that verdict or not.

    The point, though, is: Don't let this...

    I feel kind of bad for them..... it seems like they were rushed to develop new storylines and focus on different characters once Carrell left. And like people determined beforehand that they wouldn't give the show a chance after he left. I enjoyed most of the episodes.

    Even with all the changes last year, I still enjoyed it. I think the whole storyline with the new boss could have been better, but I did enjoy it.

    In all, I think it's not what it once was, but it is still enjoyable. I'm sorry to see it go.

    I've seen every episode again and again... Without a doubt my favorite show of all time. I hold no shame in saying I cried yesterday when I heard the news.
