According to The New York Times, the National Hockey League and the players union agreed on Friday to resume talks over the weekend in an attempt to salvage this season. The NHL lockout, which is the second for the league in the last decade, has lasted 104 days and sparked anger amongst hockey fans — especially those who spent money on season tickets.
Should the NHL and its players union come to an agreement, it is expected that the shortened season would begin mid-January and have a 48-game schedule. Even if the NHL season is saved, the damage might have already been done to the league's brand and popularity. The NHL's most beloved game, the annual Winter Classic, was canceled due to the lockout.
The Winter Classic is typically the most watched game of the regular season and a fun spectacle for fans that can see two NHL teams battle it out in an outdoor stadium, such as Boston's Fenway Park. The league has to regain the trust of its fans, including many who may not even care anymore about hockey after yet another lockout. The puck is in the NHL and players union's rink to get a deal done. What do you think: Is there still hope for a hockey season?

NHL= Nothing Happening Lately
Rest in peace!
be as nightmarish as they are in Washington, our various state capitals,
and city halls and county seats, all across our nation.
How well has the season worked out so far for these morons?
The players give me a break they're bloody millionaires playing hockey stop whining and settle. In the end the ones that are getting screwed by this squabble between the millionaires and the billionaires are the fans that fork out their hard earned money to watch the games.
