the possibility exist hat you will no longer be able to play used games on the 720 because big companies feels like its stealing and is even worse than pirating their games. and actually the head of like either activision or EA actually said that too almost word for word.

no you can play a game you buy as much as you want but you won't be able to give it to your friend to borrow once you beat it.

it has nothing to do with copy right. let me explain how things work. EA makes the game gamestop buys the games in bulk we buy them from game stop. they never directly see our money. used games allow people to play games that are no longer in print or whatever if they takes that away i will never be able to play a single tales game on the new xbox game console and other game console might mimic it.

I honestly do not think this will happen, I read the same article. It would be pretty stupid because so many people rely on used games, it would not only hurt Microsoft but also video game stores.

i know, a lot of the games i like to play are no longer in print and hard to fin because they didn't print all that many to begin with.

That's not really possible unless they move to DRM content, and if they do, they'll find their console failing to Steam, which is DRM free (used game free too). Really, the gamers will decide things as we are the ones who buy this stuff.

its still possible they could do something like in PC gaming with the codes and what not.

They tried that in the 90's and Steam was the solution to it. Simply put DRM as a "solution" to pirating doesn't work. It's either gotten around or simply ignored by those who pirate games.

yeah i know but that doesn't mean they wouldn't try for console games.

It's a stupid move and the gamers will let them know about this. We did with the PC market and look what happened there.

i totally agree but i think this has more to do with pressure from certain multibillion dollar game companies other than Microsoft.

Again, gamers ARE the deciding factor here because they're the people who FUND gaming companies by purchasing the games. If people stop purchasing games out of protest, gaming companies WILL take notice. If they switch to say... The Nintendo Wii and abandon X-Box and Phony... I mean Sony all together... the console makers will notice. The best way to get the attention of a corporation is to hit them where it hurts. Their wallets.

i understand that. just companies like activision and EA to them used games=pirated games. and they have power.

Then again, when was the last time EA made a game on their own that was worth more then 20 cents at launch? I mean EA itself, not it's subsidiary companies it bought out (Like Sid Meiers or the other game makers that don't make sports games for EA)

still they own like all of the biggest franchises right now. COD MW3 earned 5 billion in sales.

Again, this is something that Gamers will influence by what they purchase. If they find out that the "new" gaming console doesn't support used games, then they'll quit buying it, they'll shelve it, they'll stick with the older consoles.

They will, in short, hit the gaming industry where it hurts the most. They'll get their message across just as surely as the Internet did on SOPA, PIPA and ACTA... and now Bill C-11 in Canada.
