The new fall season is just around the corner. And while many TV viewers are looking forward to picking up where they left off with old fictional friends, many are ready to move on and try something new. There a lot of shows using the same tried-and-true formulas of friends living together in an apartment or cops chasing bad guys. But there are a few offerings that seem to be bringing something different to the table.
ABC has two shows that look promising. First the horror series “666 Park Avenue” on which “Lost’s” Terry O’Quinn plays landlord to “Brothers & Sisters’” Dave Annabelle. The twist? The building’s haunted. The comedy “The Neighbors” also deals with other worldly creatures but on this sitcom, they move into a cul-de-sac and try to blend in.
FOX has given “The Office’s” Mindy Kaling her own show called, aptly enough, “The Mindy Project.” She plays an OB/GYN trying to get her personal life in order. And after watching his wife Kyra Sedgwick’s success on “The Closer” Kevin Bacon is trying his hand at series television with “The Following.”
NBC has two promising comedies on the horizon -- Matthew Perry plays a smarmy grieving widow in “Go On” and “Glee” creator Ryan Murphy is turning some heads with a show about a non-traditional family on “The New Normal.” So... Which new fall freshman show are you most looking forward to?

It is too many and too jumbled to keep up with.
Actually, I'm looking forward to Kevin Bacon's new show, too. When I saw the promo for it, I was definitely interested. Maybe more for the actor in the show than the premise.
