ReCaP:: "Hello Ms. Kirk. I'm Dr. Carlisle Cullen. I see you've met my dear Renesemee." he smiled shaking my hand - which too was unusually cold, but I didn't mind. It was rather hot in this waiting room - and continued,
"Um, Mr. Hunt is okay. He's still drowsy from the anesthetic so he may be or fall asleep when you visit him. Would you allow me to lead you to see him?" he asked politely.

"Yes please. Thank you so much. But would you mind telling me exactly what happened?" All I know is that it involved another car and Jakob.

"Yes, well he was turning at a stop sign but someone ran the stop sign and hit him as he was pulling out and he flipped off the road into a ditch." he frowned and looked down at me with regret in his eyes. I knew he didn't want to tell me this, but I'm glad he did.

"Right..." I whispered. "Can I go see him now?"

"Of course." he said.

StArT::: "We'll be right here Katy." Renesmee said.

"Yes, I'll drive you home if you want me to." Edward added.

"Thank you. I'll try not to be too long." I grinned thankfully.

"Take your time. No hurry." they said together.

Dr. Cullen lead me down the hall and into a room in the middle of the hall. It was Jake's room. Dr. Cullen motioned for me to go inside as he held the door open for me. I walked slowly into the room looking at Jake. He looked fragile, beat up and broken. Seeing him this way nearly killed me. I felt light headed and my knees began to buckle from under me and I fell but Dr. Cullen caught me quickly.

"Katy?" I heard a worried, quiet, hoarse voice ask.

"Jake!?" I gasped.

"Are you ok Ms. Kirk?" Dr. Cullen asked as he stood me back up keeping a firm grip under my elbow. When I regained my balance I turned to him and smiled.

"Yes. Thanks again Dr. Cullen."

"Please, call me Carlisle." he smiled back.

"Ok, Carlisle. Thank you. And could you call me Katy please?" I said to him. He nodded. I stayed facing him until I thought I had the strength enough to not cry like a little baby and walked over to Jake. When I got over there I couldn't look him directly in the eyes afraid the pain I saw in them would make me cry, so I just looked at his hands. He lifted his left hand for me to take and I did.

"Hey babe." he said hoarsely and cleared his throat.

"Hi..." I bit my lower lip to stop from crying.

"Are you ok?" he asked lifting our hands and rubbing my cheek with the back of his hand.

"Am I ok? Jake! You... You're in the hospital all stitched up and broken... and you have the nerve to ask me if I'm ok?" I began to cry. He didn't even seem to acknowledge our location! All he cared about was me, which was wrong. He should focus on healing right now and not my crying.

'SO STOP CRYING KATY!!!' my conscious screamed at me.

"Of course Katy. I'm sorry I was wreckless and made you worry. Well, I obviously wasn't wreck less because I did wreck..." he paused and smiled my favorite smile.

Now he's cracking jokes!!

"Katy, I think we both know how often we get into accidents. This isn't my first time in a hospital Katy. We were born to get into accidents. The moment I was born my mom knew I would be a wild child." he said rubbing the back of my hand with his thumb now. He was trying so hard to get me to smile and I was being stubborn.

"I know. We're accident prone." I said grinning, just a little bit though.

"Come on Katy. Let me see a real smile." he said smiling hoping I would eventually smile too. I smiled a little bit bigger this time. "Please??" My grin didn't change. "Fine, since you won't smile for me, can I have a kiss?" he asked and leaned up to kiss me and whinced in pain.

"Jake please don't hurt yourself even worse." I frowned leaning down and softly, and carefully, pressed my lips to his. It wasn't what he wanted though because he put his hand on the back of my neck and held me there so he could press his lips harder to mine. In a way, I didn't like this. But I knew that if he wasn't in the hospital that I would kiss him like this all day if I could. His heart rate, along with mine, began to increase as he tried to go as long as possible without our lips seperating. I heard the monitor and pulled away quickly.

"What are you going to tell Dr. Cullen when he sees that jolt in your heart rate?" I asked him.

"I won't lie. I'll tell him that I was kissing my girlfriend." he smiled and I did too.

"Finally! There's my smile." he said pecking my lips.

He patted the bed and scooched over and pulled me on the bed beside him. I layed my head on his chest and began to think about things as he played with a strand of my hair. 'Girlfriend'. he'd said. I want to be his girlfriend but when he has leave, it's going to make things twice as hard for both of us. I don't so care for my pain, but I'm not so sure I could bare to see him hurt. Thinking about his pain made me sick... literally. I jumped up quickly off the bed and ran to the bathroom.

"Katy? You okay hon?" Jake asked.

I flushed the toilet and rinsed my mouth out with hot water and came back in to lay beside him.

"No. No I'm not ok Jake." I said crying. I looked up at him and he looked confused.

"Why? What's wrong?" he asked quietly with a worried look in his eyes.

"Because, I was thinking about being away from you and how much I would miss you and realized that you have to leave me soon. Thinking about being away from you that long made me sick. Jake I love you. So, so much. I don't ever want you to leave me." I sobbed quietly and slowly. I looked up to see his reaction and he looked saddened. I kissed him and clung to his chest very carefully and he hugged me back - as tight as he could without hurting himself - and began crying too.

"Katy, I don't want to leave. Trust me, I don't. I want to follow you to the edge of the galaxy and back. I love you too, Katy. More than you could ever imagine." he tilted my head up a little more and kissed me again.

This kiss was soft and had so much meaning behind it. More meaning than when I had kissed Bobby. Yes, I loved Bobby, so very, very much. He was like my best friend, but Jake is my soul mate. I heard a knock at the door and we seperated as Aunt Liz came into the room.
