It's kind of hard to believe there's an unreleased Doors song, sung by Jim Morrison, coming out more than 40 years after his death. Labels usually scour the vaults of deceased artists for anything they can get to market, but producer Bruce Botnick, who worked on the band's "L.A. Woman" album, discovered an untapped gem called "She Smells So Nice" while he was listening to the "L.A. Woman" studio sessions.
The song is an unpolished, uptempo blues number reminiscent of the era it was recorded in -- late '70, early '71. The three-and-a-half minute song will be available on the deluxe remastered version of "L.A. Woman," due out on January 24, but has been made widely available on the band's Facebook page. What do you think of the recently discovered song?

Wonderful

And that is good, when you consider of the "top three", only Led Zeppelin released a proper remastered box set, that is until recently The Beatles finally released remasters in mono, stereo, and in two American albums box sets. The Rolling Stones discography is a clusterf**k, with ABKCO Records reissuing the 1960s stuff. The 1970s stuff was issued first by Atlantic Records on CD, then remastered and reissued by Virgin Records, and then remastered and reissued by Universal Music. Of course the bands moved to Virgin lasted as long as that contract, with remasters and reissues of those now done by Universal Music. Never any proper box set (yes I know about the singles box sets, I mean albums).
Furthermore, if you consider The Who, no box set (yes a tossed together thing, but not the albums). Yes the albums were remastered, and some in nice "deluxe" packages with extras, but it was not very cohesive. Lynyrd Skynyrd is much the same thing, as all of the albums were remastered and reissued, but again you have to do a little research before you can put the discography together.
Good old Ray Manzarek makes it easy for fans of The Doors. God Bless him.
I love some of Jim Morrison music but this one does nothing for me.
They could have kept this one in the vault.
Did you see the movie with Val Kilmer as Jim? MANN, he NAILED IT!!!
Yes he did.
Boss and I were just arguing about taxes. Fun stuff.
