Teen Plays 'Dance Dance Revolution' for 16 Hours, Lands World Record: Cool or Crazy?

Marathon gaming generally isn't the healthiest thing for your body if you're playing games like "World of Warcraft" or "Modern Warfare 3," but 17-year-old Alexander Skudlarek got the workout of his life when he played "Dance Dance Revolution" for 16 hours, 18 minutes, and nine seconds in October. This week, he received confirmation that the feat landed him in the Guinness Book of World Records for "the longest videogames marathon playing Dance Dance Revolution."

According to Kotaku, the marathon did allow him a ten-minute break every hour, but it got him the record anyway so who's counting? Skudlarek also told Kotaku he isn't all that into "DDR." He just scoured Guinness and picked something he thought he could pull off. And he did, but "DDR" has a lot of hardcore fans. We anticipate a challenger some time very soon...

Look at it this way, they're exercising and the game kept them away from drugs and alcohol, which can lead to other life-changing mistakes. Props to you, kid

I am not impressed. Anyone can play DDR on light mode for 50 minutes, then get 10 minute break, then repeat that 15 more times. By the way, most DDR songs aren't even 2 minutes long. Also, if you select a new song after each other song, you get a good 30 seconds of nonmovement to relax. I call BS.

That takes skill and stamina. May not seem like much and really isn't very important, but still.

Doing anything for 16 hours straight is on the crazy side, but I guess people will do anything to get into the Guinness Book of World Records.
