Back in December, "Teen Mom" star Amber Portwood managed to get out of a five-year jail sentence by agreeing to complete a drug rehab program, but last week in court she told a judge that she couldn't finish it. She agreed to go to prison instead. She told ABC News, "In my situation, I felt in the program there were a lot of eyes on me. And it was very uncomfortable. I was not using my anti-psych medication even."

Portwood's legal trouble began in 2010, when she was charged with three felonies for hitting her ex-fiance Gary Shirley in front of their daughter. She managed to get off with two years of probation, but violated her probation when she got in a fight and was found with prescription medication that she didn't have a prescription for. She also attempted suicide on a few occasions. So, this whole ordeal has got us wondering. If you were in Amber Portwood's shoes -- which, for your sake, we hope you aren't -- would you pick prison or rehab?

After having done both, rehab is by far the easiest place to live semi-comfortably!

And the people I met in rehab were nicer than the ones I met in prison!

well...... i've never been to either one so i'm not the best for this question i guess but i couldn't handle it in prison. all the creepo chicks would ravage over the fact that i'm bi. they'd all kill me

Much more worth it. You get taught how to completely rid of those lifestyles and become happy again, but if you go to prison you're more than likely to make the same mistakes again once you get out :x

Don't want a prison buddy. You go in....but you don't come out the same from prison. Seen it in some folks I know who got out of prison. They weren't the same anymore.

I do agree, but when you think about it, it is June now. She was sentenced in December, so she had been in rehab for 6/7 months before she said she couldn't do it and they took her to prison.

some people you just can't help - i used to know a girl ; got prg. 3 x & miscarried each time , every time she got prg. the getto golliwog left her and came back when the ' coast was clear ' . the forth time she actually delivered and he's yellin' 'it's not my baby ' . it was a total jerry springer episode .

If she can't admit she has a problem infront of people, then she belongs in jail. Sadly, this stubborn woman will end up right where she chose to be if she cannot break her addiction, and cope with her mental disorders. Most violent drug addicts have long rap sheets.
