Taylor Swift Offered Role in 'Les Miserables': Do You Think She Can Act?

It happens to just about everyone in the entertainment industry. You start out in one field (music, in this case) and then leap to another (some acting, perhaps?) Well, it seems like it's Taylor Swift's turn to do just that. The 22-year-old pop country singer is a hit on the music charts -- and now you may also see her on the big screen.

Broadwayworld.com has confirmed that Taylor Swift has been offered the role of "Eponine" in the film adaptation of "Les Miserables" -- a popular musical. Apparently, Scarlett Johansson, Lea Michele and Evan Rachel Wood had all been auditioning for the highly regarded role, but it looks like Taylor beat them to it. In addition to Taylor's offer, actress Amanda Seyfried has also been offered the role of Cosette in the flick.

But let's get back to Taylor. The singer may have even alluded to her upcoming acting career in a recent interview. She told MTV News that she was working on "some surprise projects that may or may not happen, and possibly some acting." Hm, very interesting. In any case, we've got to ask: do you think Taylor Swift can pull off some acting?

    But compared to Evan Rachel Wood? Come on. She was, what, fifteen when she was in Thirteen? And she was AMAZING. And I feel like it's safe to say she's only gotten better. And Scarlett Johansson? Not too shabby, if I do say so myself. Lea Michele.... well.... it's hard for me to say. All I've seen her in is Glee, and I don't really like her in it.

    Yes, I believe she can act, after seeing some of the tidbits from her concerts. Any show Taylor Swift and Amanda Seyfried are in, would be worth a trip to NYC.

    Nick Jonas really surprised me with how well his performance was in Les Miserables, maybe Taylor will have the same effect.

    She will be perfect. I just hope they also cast Beyonce in the film so that Kanye West will not show up drunk on the set proclaiming Beyonce's CD to be the "greatest."

    I've seen her act in C.S.I? if i'm not mistaken, and she's okay, she can act :) but i don't know when it comes to Broadway.. especially when she's taking the role of Eponine, wow! if she beat lea Michelle which i think is much better then let's see if she can beat Lea salongga.
