Dave Hester, former cast member of reality series "Storage Wars," is suing the show amid claims that he was fired for complaining to producers about faked sections of the show.

According to Radar Online, Hester alleges that producers plant valuable items in lockers to make shows more interesting and that auctions are often rigged. He even says that the show paid for a female cast member's plastic surgery to increase her sex appeal.

The world of reality television has often been plagued by legal troubles. Recently the ex-agents of the cast of "Pawn Stars" filed a lawsuit claiming their clients were stolen from them. The cast of "Jersey Shore" have been sued multiple times for assault, and Bristol Palin has been sued by a man she had a verbal altercation with in a bar because she broadcast the footage without his consent.

Going all the way back to "The Real World: San Francisco" from 1994, star David "Puck" Rainey has recently been sent to prison after being convicted of stalking a woman.

The polygamous family at the center of "Sister Wives" have been investigated for possible bigamy, and have also filed their own lawsuit to have polygamy laws changed in Utah.

And earlier this year, two black men filed a class action lawsuit against "The Bachelor" because the show has never had a minority as a star, while contestants on the controversial British show "There's Something About Miriam" sued after they were tricked into competing for the affections of a pre-op transsexual.

This is a serious case of "sour grapes" if I ever heard one! Dave Hester has bitched about being portrayed as an egotistical villain season after season...but...he continued to cash the checks. Now that the network finally got fed up with him and fired him...he's slinging mud, calling names and making all kinds of accusations from rigged lockers to plastic surgery for a female cast member (Laura or Brandi??)!! All he's doing is PROVING that he's exactly as portrayed...a cantankerous, mean spirited, sore loser who will go to any lengths to make others miserable. I hope they ram this lawsuit up your....YUUUUP!!!!

And...so what if the lockers are rigged?? Aren't ALL "reality" game shows rigged?? So, what's the big surprise?? I've noticed that a lot of times when the buyers...especially Dave Hester...are going through the contents of a locker they've won; they will WAY over estimate the value of the junk they find! I mean...he'll drag out a box of beat up pots & pans and say "that's a hundred dollar bill" when you KNOW most of it is yard sale crap and maybe worth TEN dollars.

Funniest thing that ever happened on Storage Wars was when Hester got out of his truck and the fine china snuff box he was taking for an estimate fell and broke on the pavement!! Now that was funny!! YUUUUP!!

Don't you get it yet? Thay are all fake. Fake drama, fake fights, set up situations and scripted plots. They are there so producers can make shows cheaply and the dumb assed public is buying it like they plan it. If they had tp pay writers and actors they couldn't make this crap. Wise up, quit watching this crap and it will soon go away.

While I've never watched any of these programs by choice my roommates have and in passing I've caught a glimpse (ok maybe more than a glimpse) and I can actually see how they can become fascinating in the way you can't stop looking at footage of a train wreck over and over.Must be something in the human condition

So-called "reality shows" are mostly junk. I've seen a couple of "Storage Wars" episodes, and I'd have fired Hester just for being an a$$h@t. In fact, he's at the top of the list of reasons (there are others) that it didn't make my "watch" list of shows.

Why not Anna Nicole Smith or the other wasted celebrity reality shows? Most of those pawn shows steal way too much time from real educational programming.

Like ANY "reality" show is totally real. The questions are...did he get his storage unit? Did he make money as a fake actor? Did the show succeed?

I wasn't aware of any other reality show lawsuits except for storage wars. The reality show genre has become over-saturated like everything else trendy. The "reality" term is used loosely as these shows become more and more are scripted. The only thing differentiating them from actual sitcoms or dramas is the absence of highly paid Hollywood actors. Instead you are given highly emotional and dysfunctional drama queens and attention whores in their place.

The only other one I watch that is on this list is Pawn Stars. Dave Hester is a whiny douche bag who enjoyed playing the role of the dick that nobody liked. Why he was surprised the show was rigged in his eyes is beyond me. Also I do not understand how the bidders think they can get what they think they can when they win an auction. I wouldn't give them a third of the supposed value from the crap they buy with few exceptions.

I am concerned about these reality shows.

Not all that long ago that channels like the History Channel, Discovery, and the Science Channel actually had history and science content. Now when I turn on the box all I see are people doing inane things such as repossessing cars, making moonshine, or doing similar things. I'd really like to see something that teaches me something or gives a different perspective on some aspect of life.

But reality shows are cheap to produce. No script, no sets, no score, and people who get union minimum wages. And that means more money for the channel.

I do not watch any of them. Since the ACLU opposes "torture", they should file a law suit to get them all off the air. Otherwise, show them to the prisoners at Guantanamo Bay. They will all confess immeditately!
