He's a rock star that has spent decades taking drugs and drinking with other rockers, and now he suddenly had to spend time with annoying pop stars and untalented kids. Of course it's not going to be his cup of tea. Give the guy a break!

Just as Steven is not my cup of tea! When he sang the National Anthem before the New England Patriot playoff game at their invitation, I thought that Roseanne Barr was attempting a come back!

I find it rather honest and noble of him to have acknowledged what we all already knew!! He was completely out of his element!!

It was obvious it wasn't his cup of tea.....but he didn't need to say so. He's a rock star and performer. He needs that attention.

I think he is being honest. Would there be a Steven Tyler, or any of the artist we have come to recognize as great, if their careers depended on how well they did on a show like American Idol. How many of them would make it past the audition phase? It almost seems a bit hypocritical that he and the others judge these new artist.

...but he probably doesn't want to spend too much time on TV either. When he's not doing his fantastic thing on stage to divert attention, lets face it, age is not his friend.

At times he was funny, but think he lost focus and became bored. AI is a great platform and has been a springboard for many.

I think that he realized he would rather be on stage performing than being a judge. I watched last season solely because of Steven Tyler! I really enjoyed Simon Cowell on the show and miss him only because he said what he felt !

I think Steve was a lot more serious about judging the acts than were J-LO and Randy. I was qjuite impressed with Steven's knowledge of Jazz and Broadway music.

He may be one of the greatest hard rock performers. But his ability to do other styles is commendable.
