Almost a year after Christina Aguilera botched the National Anthem at last year's Super Bowl, somebody may have done it even worse: Steven Tyler. The 63-year-old "American Idol" judge performed a screechy rendition of "The Star-Spangled Banner" at Sunday's AFC Championship game, wearing a sequined scarf in honor of the New England Patriots.
But even though the crowd cheered him on, critics have been pretty tough on the Aerosmith frontman, with Fox columnist Jason Whitlock tweeting: "Steven Tyler far more obscene than Janet Jackson's t*tty."
While some fans loved Tyler's trademark scream ("I knew 'the scream' was coming!," tweeted country singer Jason Michael Carroll), The Bleacher Report suggested that Tyler wouldn't win a golden ticket to Hollywood on his own show. From Tyler to Aguilera to Roseanne Barr, click through our slideshow and let us know: Who performed the worst National Anthem ever?

The two worst are Hockey girl and Christina, but Christina's gotta take the prize. She was so busy putting her flare on it she forgot the words. Dumb. World class dumb from someone that should know better. Hockey girl was bad, but from what we hear from every professional that sings that song, it's supposedly the hardest one with the most pressure as so many consider it "sacred" and are offended when they screw it up. Hockey girl will never make it to the big leagues without being prepared. But Christina is there and should've been ready. Shame on her.
Or a six-year-old:
Or a five-year-old:
Or even a four-year-old:
They have no chance against this quintet of little girls:
I have never watched a Super bowl game in my life. In England, all we really talk about is the weather (it completely changes every 5 minutes...it's actually pretty interesting.) For Christina Aguilera...I can't say anything since I don't know any of the lyrics to 'Star-Spangled Banner', why would I?
I have nothing else to say.
I disagree that Tyler's rendition was that bad. His screech and scream to me just seemed like trademark Tyler. What bothered me was his appearance. He looks like an old drag queen. Ick.
*the video starts*
Me:
Booing throughout our National Anthem is unacceptable,
no matter who is on the Jumbotron!
But any 'professional' who thinks they can 'wing' their way through it - only to discover in front of millions of Americans how difficult the song really is and hence, how completely unprepared THEY are - is a close second....
I don't think Hillary should be picked on for this one. She's not a singer, and she was obviously put on the spot and very uncomfortable. Don't get me wrong, I have serious problems with Hillary as a person and a politician. But I'm not gonna pick on her singing.
Christina Aguilera has a beautiful voice but all the trilling and crooning kind of ruined things. She should have just sung it straight. It would have sounded much better.
As for Stephen Tyler, perhaps he was just having an off day.
I couldn't listen to Christina because I couldn't stand her "rendition". Her wavering voice hurts my ears LOL
Hilary, Rosanne, Carl are not even singers. They all get a pass.
