Stellar Revival thinks of their music as "an homage to people who are different and really stand out ... someone who perseveres and goes against the grain." And in an age of endless revision and transient "new genres" -- dubstep, post-dubstep, chillwave, whatevercore, jazzstep, slip hop -- there's no better way to stand out and persevere than to to harness a timeless tradition like rock and roll and make it your own.
Rock and roll, defined by '50s and '60s legends like Elvis Presley, Buddy Holly, The Rolling Stones, and The Who, is easily as rich and diverse as any contemporary movement, but maintains a strong tradition in songwriting, attitude, and approach. For Stellar Revival, the band that best encompasses the idea of rock and roll today is Foo Fighters, lead by former Nirvana drummer Dave Grohl. Foo Fighters' Grammy-winning riffs have been carrying the torch for 18 years, but they can't do it on their own. Stellar Revival is up for the challenge.
Stellar Revival's first single, "The Crazy Ones," is about "people who don't take 'no' for an answer." Frontman Rino Cerbone says, "To me, those are the crazy ones. I think that's a force to be reckoned with and we need more of them." In a new press kit, the band discusses their approach to rock, the video for "Crazy Ones," a couple of other songs off their upcoming album, and most importantly, the tradition of rock and roll. Who do you think is carrying the torch today?

Funky Monk 2012/05/07 19:45:06Foo Fighters+6Wasting Light was made in a garage on analog tape, debuted at #1 in 11 countries, and won 4 Grammys. That's no easy feat....

like Radio Paradise - for example - which torches quite a lot absolute good Rock Bands and others 2 - however The Black Keys - are played - here 2 - now and then
P.S. I have no problems playing Santana or Clapton's music...But I really have to pay attention to detail when I play Jimi or SRV....And Metal, thrash , punk or rap crap is something I just don't care about or listen to.
And if the difficulty of the playing means something for people who have never played guitar?
and the Stones could be looked at that way as well..Don't get me wrong...there's still great music out there if you look hard enough...like Adele...but the days of real superhero 3 piece band guitar players are gone....nobody in the young range has really become what SRV and Hendrix were...maybe I should mention Eddie Vanhalen?...

Volbeat is a Danish heavy metal band formed in Copenhagen. They play a fusion of rock and roll, heavy metal, punk and rockabilly. They are inspired by classic rock and roll artists such as Elvis Presley and Johnny Cash, as well as more contemporary hard rock, punk rock and metal bands, such as AC/DC, Social Distortion, The Misfits, Napalm Death and Metallica.[1] Their line-up consists of vocalist and guitarist Michael Poulsen, bassist Anders Kjølholm and drummer Jon Larsen. The band is signed to Dutch label Mascot Records and has released four studio albums and one DVD. All of their studio albums were certified gold in Denmark. Their second album Rock the Rebel/Metal the Devil received platinum status, and their latest release Beyond Hell/Above Heaven was subject to widespread international critical acclaim, receiving double platinum in Denmark, platinum in Finland and Germany, gold in Sweden and Austria.
And Foo Fighters are always consistent and dependable if nothing else. I'm never disappointed
