Checking into and staying at a hotel seems like a simple, mundane thing to do ... but not for many celebrities. According to Travel + Leisure magazine, celebs from Lil Wayne and Britney Spears have been banned for bad behavior.

lil wayne

In 2010, the Wynn in Las Vegas banned rapper Lil Wayne, who had just completed an eight-month sentence for attempted criminal possession of a weapon, Travel + Leisure reports.

Hollywood's Standard Hotel reportedly banned Amanda Bynes after she was arrested on suspicion of DUI. And perhaps most famously, Charlie Sheen was reportedly banned for life from New York City’s Plaza Hotel in 2010, after he flew into a rage an caused $20,000 worth of damage while a porn actress hid in the bathroom.

In 2010, Paris Hilton was reportedly banned from staying at the Wynn and Encore resorts after cocaine was found in her purse. And the Chateau Marmont reportedly banned Britney Spears in 2007 due to her ... wait for it ... bad table manners. So many celebs, so many hotel bans! So what's the deal? Do celebrities think they are above the rules?

    And usually they are.

Lohan hasn't served nearly the time a regular person would.

Britney never served for her drunken incidents.

Lil Wyane, Charlie Sheen, and other should have gone to jail for destruction of property LIKE regular folks would have.

Of course they are, that is why the do it, they KNOW they can get away with it. The stories from flight attendants should be proof enough.

Look at Lil Wayne! He acts as if he is above everything! He has enough money to buy his own hotel yet he acts as if he still lives in the ghetto! Always with that stupid attitude as if he is the coolest thing in the world but to me he only looks like a fool! He acts tough and above even God himself but I bet he would get his ass kicked in a fight! He has money but he lacks the smarts to appreciate it and that goes for all these celebs! I don't need money to be happy but I sure wouldn't act like this if I had it! It just slaps good hard working people in the face when these idiots act this way!

Many a celeb has trashed a hotel and they thought the hotel should just be lucky to have them for publicity reasons and all. The damage left was never worth the publicity it brought in. Would you welcome a celeb with an attitude like Lil Wayne??? Just look at him. Highly unlikely.

money and fame tends to do that. Should be some celebrities as I doubt all are like this.

Actually I think it does depend on the celebrity meaning that some probably understand that they are above the rules although there are many who think they are above the rules.

In a large sense I'd say they are. Celebrities have among the highest narcissistic rates of anyone on average. I do happen to think that some of the reasons mentioned here though are a little ridiculous.

Some of the reasons for banning are just outright ridiculous. It seems to me that hotels are choosing to single out celebrities because of their status and nothing more.

Because they pretty much know that with their $ they are going to get a slap on the wrist & be let go. Now if they were to actually get charged like the rest of us, maybe they would grow up and behave!

When I was in college, I worked for a HoJo's motor inn in Athens GA. The cast and crew for an atrocious movie called Poor, Pretty Eddie stayed at the place. One afternoon, a slppy, inebriated Shelley Winters ran from her room naked and jumped in the pool. The hotel manager told me to get her out. I stood at poolside wishing I had a harpoon, looking at exposed blubber. But to this day, I can honestly say, I touched Shelley Winters' boobs. Makes me throw up in my mouth to think of it. She was very gracious and apologetic afterwards.

People think first, Many Celebrities have been put though the Ringer and many are not celebrities any more. Celebrities get hit with high and more (truckup) lawsuites, attacks etc.
Some seem to get by, but so can you if you had the time and money to find ways to get around some issues. So for the Most part they don't get away with things just shown more tolances.

And for the ones that do have a history of poor behavior, I would charge quadruple the going rate with a deposit of nothing less than $10.000 for any damages they do! And for lil wayne..I would charge him 10 times that, just for being a no talent and butt ugly@!!

I would love to go stay in hotels once in a while just get away, and these people go and show total disrespect, ignorance and destructive actions. They don't appreciate anything in life. If you think about it, if it weren't for people like us going to movies, concerts, buying their music, books, clothing and all other things that pertain to them, they wouldn't be where they are now. They should be thanking us for who they are, but the fame and money has made them self centered, greedy, arrogant, destructive people. Take Roseanne Barr, she is a big mouth, mean, disrespectful person with no shame about herself. What she did to our National Anthem was awful, wishing cancer on people is as low as a person can go. This goes fire all who are just like her. If these people can't respect hotels, then I say make them stay in caves.

And more often than not, they are.

Lindsay Lohan and Charlie Sheen, for example. I'd be in jail if I'd done the things they did.

Celebrities get away with whatever they want, so they just do whatever they want.

The majority do think they are above the average persons rules. They should be treated just like you and I would be. We all put our pants on the same way...one leg at a time. They are not special for any reason and do not deserve special consideration because of the career path they chose. If anyone deserves special consideration, that would be soldiers, teachers, policemen and firemen. (The ones who protect and help build us as human beings, what movie star has ever done that?)

Yes they do. And the way the court system gives them pats on the wrist when normal folks would be in jail for the full term of the sentencing its no wounder why they act that way. I am sure their are a few that aren't like that but most are. If I owned a hotel I wouldn't want stars like that in my hotel either.

Yes, some celebrities think they are above the law because in this society "Money" is "Power"! Give a wise man money and he act accordingly, give a "Fool" some money and he goes straight to "Hell" acting like a "Fool"! A fool don't need a large amount of money!
