I loved this movie! I grew up watching the original series with my dad and loved how spot on the casting was in keeping with personalities of original cast. Keeping the authentic feel of the original series, plus great story, plus 100 times better special effects equals hit in my book. Can't wait for the next one!

Before voting I know I'm in the minority here; but this movie stunk out loud. Characterization was "frat boys in space". Special effects were obscured by flash, noise, and spastic edits. And I'm convinced no one involved in production had even seen any episode of any Star Trek series.

This is the only Star Trek movie I do not (nor will have) on DVD. Even the dreary, self-indulgent "The Motion Picture" is preferable (which is nothing but a two hour promo for the special effects company). Had I seen this in a theatre, I'd have left half way through and asked for a refund; it was excruciating enough trying to sit through the entire mess at home.

Awesome! I think the casting was great, the close friendship between Jim and Bones was done beautifully. I really hope they make a series, maybe a crossover with ST:TOS?

The characters were well played and well chosen for looking like the original cast. I was amazed at the resemblences... and the acting was well done and totally in character already created by the original cast.

Cpt. Kirk was the best. Also his crew. But I hate it when they have to change the people in a movie series or TV series. It's never the same as the original. (Sigh) Oh well!

At first I thought it was a new Star Trek movie because of the title "The Future Begins". I knew the movie only as Star Trek. I loved it and I'm hoping they'll make a few more with most of the same cast.

It's a really good one, but there are better I guess... How about Insurection, Nemesis, First Contact, Generations... Not so many and good special effects but more interesting, more profound, with better plots? Best wishes to all fans!

I think this one falls right in behind the "Search for Spock" as a top ST movie. New people for old characters with a new timeline to have adventures in. They should continue these adventures and then bring it to TV.

When will the next one come out? I was in a packed theater, and you could tell who the babyboomers were - we were the ones sniffling the second Leonard Nimoy appeared onscreen. Star Treck will live forever. It is a show that influenced our generation and continues to inspire the following generations.

Being a hard core Trekkie and having IV as one of my top movies of all time, I was impressed.

Spock (younger), just wasn't Spock though. Everyone else was very spot on given different circumstances.
