"South Park" creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone are notorious for finishing their shows just hours before they air. The most recent episode, which aired on Wednesday, addressed the Penn State scandal -- a demonstration of the show's flexibility and timeliness, and a monument to the stress they no doubt endure in the process.
But whatever they do, it works. USA Today reports "South Park" has been renewed through 2016, which would close out the show's 20th season. Parker and Stone explained they're still enjoying the work after 15 seasons. They said in a statement, "South Park is a blast and we can't wait to make more." Do you think "South Park" is the funniest show on TV?

☠ Live Free Or Die ☠ 2011/11/17 23:30:30Yes+19South Park has satire so complex that it flys right over most people's heads and just comes off as pointlessly vulgar, immature, and mindless when it is actualy one of the smartest, most clever and on point shows on television.

I like South Park, just not as much as I used to.
It's old now, but also Russel Brand's Ponderland makes me laugh out loud even now!!!

He is completely narcissistic and without a filter of diplomacy to what he articulated and because of his intelligence he has an unforgiving superiority complex towards anyone with a lesser IQ then himself.
plus
"Saturday Night" before it became "Saturday Night Live".
Ernie Kovacs.
I Love Lucy.
Now what the USA needs to get it's pride back and regain it's sliding reputation in the rest of the worlds eyes is Eric Cartman as President of this great nation.
I hear what you are saying, but not every episode is events-based. They all have dedicated writing staff and don't need to rely on the follies of real life to draw from all the time. I think it will be hard to forget shows or trashbin episodes when there are literally hundreds of them available to whoever wants to see them for free via internet or streaming.
Let's be honest here, TV is overall pretty crappy in today's world. These guys are one of the few bright spots that have consistently shown to perform well and deliver every year.
I would take South Park, The Simpsons, or Family Guy, over The Bachelor, Teen Mom, Real Housewives, or ugh, Jersey Shore any day of the week. I honestly hope it is this crap that gets forgotten and tossed into that trashbin of history you are talking about.
I like to think that they give everyone their time to be made fun of. I do think that they recognize how polarizing their show can be. For many of the conservative pointed episodes they then add a Cartman hippie bashing episode.
Keeping the balance and keeping it funny.
Cheers!
I'll bet 95% of the USA's unemployed youth got their values from 20 years of watching "South Park."
Anybody want to do a poll at Occupy Wall Street?
Okay, we've settled the fact that you're out of your friggin' mind. Now it remains to be determined just how FAR out of your friggin' mind you are.
