TMI OR NOT: The unpredictable comedian just told Playboy that his dad treated him to a prostitute when he was 16-years-old.

TMI OR NOT: The unpredictable comedian just told Playboy that his dad treated him to a prostitute when he was 16-years-old.

  2. John Mayer

    John Mayer

TMI OR NOT: Not only does the singer-songwriter and starlet-oholic share way too much about himself, he shares too much about others. Ask his ex, “sexual napalm” Jessica Simpson.

  3. Jennifer Love Hewitt

    Jennifer Love Hewitt

TMI OR NOT: Love will go down in history for the phrase “vagazzling.” That’s what she calls putting rhinestones on her lady parts.

  4. Ashton Kutcher

    Ashton Kutcher

TMI OR NOT: No one works Twitter better than Ashton and his wife, Demi Moore. But when he shared photos of Demi in her granny panties, we think he went a little too far.

  5. Mackenzie Phillips

    Mackenzie Phillips

TMI OR NOT: We understand the need for giving up your ghosts. But did the “One Day at a Time” star go too far when she aired her family’s really dirty laundry in her memoir “High on Arrival?”

  6. Diddy

    Diddy

TMI OR NOT: The music mogul mastered TMI in 2009 when he tweeted DURING sex. Then on New Year’s Day came a misspelled tweet that “juat [sic] married” followed by a denial two hours later.

  7. Tori Spelling

    Tori Spelling

TMI OR NOT: Tori’s been sharing for decades but in the last few years she’s kicked into TMI overdrive with public Mommy-daughter feuds, reality shows about her sometimes rocky marriage, and two books about herself.

  8. Shia LaBeouf

    Shia LaBeouf

TMI OR NOT: While promoting the “Transformers” sequel Shia felt the need to share that he had seen his parents having sex. He’s been a little less effusive in interviews since.

  9. Kirstie Alley

    Kirstie Alley

TMI OR NOT: The former “Cheers” star shared her battle with weight issues through her Jenny Craig ad campaigns, her “Fat Actress” sitcom, her new reality show “Big Life,” and incessantly on Twitter.

  10. Lindsay Lohan

    Lindsay Lohan

TMI OR NOT: At this point any information about Lindsay Lohan is too much information. Aren’t you tired of her public battles with Perez Hilton, her father Michael, and sometimes gal pal Sam Ronson?

As he starts his media blitz to promote his new movie, “Get Him to the Greek,” British bad boy comedian Russell Brand is sharing a bit too much information. It got us thinking. We’re always shocked by the stars who let fans in… way, WAY in… to their private lives. Do you think these stars are guilty of TMI or not?

You!

There is really no winning when it comes to information sharing for celebrities. If a celebrity offers "TMI", he or she will get harassed by the media, but if he or she does not mention the information, but it gets leaked, a sensationalist episode occurs.

I Many of the people who over share are trying to scratch their way back into the public eye. (A big Hello to Mackenzie Phillips). The others are fools who are needlessly damaging their public image.

I honestly don't care one iota about celebs and their lives. As for Ashton though, I saw an interview with him that made a lot of sense (even if it may not be his REAL reason for oversharing...) He said that by sharing so much, HE can control what goes out much better than if he just tries to hide from the public and vulturous paparazzi. Meaning that if he is releasing so much info himself, then the paparazzi won't be hounding him (or even worse - making stuff up). It's a weird kind of perfect logic. I mean, what paparazzi can really get a better pic to release to the public than what he is already willing to release on his own? Same with any information/storyline about him and his family.

As for "oversharers" in general though, they are really damned if they do and damned if they don't when it comes to the media. If you don't share much and then something juicy is discovered by the media, it becomes a huge frenzy and you have to deal with the backlash and bad publicity. If you openly share information, then you are considered a media whore and an "oversharer". The only way that the celeb culture will ever back off is if we stop paying attention. As far as stardom goes in our country, the person who finally cures cancer or aids will NEVER have the celeb power that the stars from Jackass have for simply repeatedly hurting themselves on camera. Now THAT is sad...

i think "stars" are under the impression that people genuinely care about them, but i think people are just really pathetic and can't see the value in their own lives.

Why do people even care so much about this type of thing? Does it even matter who Jennifer Aniston is dating or what Johnny Depp's favorite food is? People need to focus on their own lives a little more, and a little less on what everybody else is doing.
