Following in the footsteps of other famous stoner musicians -- ahem Willie Nelson -- Snoop Dogg has announced that he will be releasing a reggae album later this year titled Reincarnated. To go with his new sound, Snoop will go by a new name for this project: Snoop Lion. Snoop Dogg will be making a foray into reggae on his next LP, Pitchfork reports.

now i love hip hop but i use to love bob marley i remember asking my mom when i was like 9 if i could go to a bob marley concert she said "bob marley's dead..." i was crushed!!

(i love that smile on the last one.. I don't think snoop doggs got the soul to make great reggae.. thats what i loved in great reggae and I just don't see it)

you need to look up memphis reggae online. its a group that travels around. They play it and people dance. They came through here once and took over the front of the co op after hours. Live reggae is indescribable. I danced with a jamaican woman, I didn't think I could keep up with her but we had the best time.

ok, i may have a problem, but my love for reggae know no boundaries. i actually like the snoop reggae..... the rhythm has a hypnotic effect on me...lol...;-]

two other bands come to my mind... the burning spear and the black uhuru...

i was traveling in copenhagen, there were the cutest bartender,' mads', in this reggae bar-how was he able to , when he was only seventeen, oh, it was in 1982...... oh the good ol times........;-]

I'll have to check them out! Btw, the link to Snoop's "That Tree" you shared, I admit I like..and much better than the one shared here in this poll!

Wellll it was the 80s things were so much more laid back then, I mean we could even get into bars so easily, don't you think? And the "mads" story does sounds very intriguing! ;-)
