Breaking news straight from the Jersey Shore. Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi is officially a mother. According to MTV, Snooki gave birth to her first child with fiancee Jionni LaValle a little before 3 a.m. Sunday morning at Saint Barnabas Medical Center in Livingston, NJ. The baby is a boy, who the couple has decided to name Lorenzo.

In a statement from Snooki's representative, the Jersey Shore star commented on her child's birth, saying "The world just got another Guido!!!" The 24-year-old is set to return for Jersey Shore's sixth season on MTV, although it is unknown at this time how big Snooki's role will be on the show, given her new role as a young mother and bride-to-be.

Snooki is of course known for hard partying and her immature, yet entertaining antics on Jersey Shore. Some say that is all just part of an act, as her castmates aren't exactly saints either. But with motherhood now the main priority in Snooki's life, it will be interesting to see if there's any noticeable change in her maturity on and off camera.

She's twenty-four and is as educated as a 15- year-old. Really? She sees her newborn as a "Guido"?. She may as well be a teen mom. But some teens would make a better mother than her. -_-

I do not know but remember- reality television is FAR from reality. Snooki might have just been milking out money from jersey shore and playing it up for the camera, but who knows? She might actually be a good mom.

I mean seriously, teenage brats look up to this lady, she's a bad influence to them and to society.. MTV as a whole should just start playing music and letting go of reality tv.

Considering her past behavior i would say no way, however if she makes a complete turnaround and realizes she has a huge responsibility, maybe!.

I personally don't think that she's going to be a good mom. She's not going to set rules for the child, love and show tender care for the child, or even come close to raising it the right way as well. She's going to use it a way to gain more publicity and make more money. And then throw the poor child all across the whole town just so that she could be look at as a good mother. This just makes me sick to my freaking stomach looking at this.
And plus when a mother is that much attached to their son like saying "He's my World", to me, that's just plain creepy. That child isn't going to carry out your wishes as you like and you'd gotta understand that as a parent, you'll have to do all that you can for the child and support it's decisions as well.
Watching a few episodes from the show "Jersey Shore", I hope I'm wrong and that she turns out to be a good mother. But until we know for certain how well that child is going to be treated and raised, I have low expectations. I just hope I'm wrong, for the sake of the newborn child, I hope I am.

I'm much older but I'm not dissing Snooki. I personally believe she puts on a show and does what people want to see just so they can be horrified. She's no fool. That little girl is making hay while the sun shines -- she's much brighter than people give her credit for. She always wanted to be an entertainer and she made it. Don't know how long it will last but she's milking it while she can. We must remember... reality TV isn't real!

She has already proven what kind of mother she is/will be by saying she will have the baby circumcised.

So, she'll be a bad mother because she's having him circumsized? Whoa, there must be a lot of bad mothers out there! ~eye roll~

Yes, Brenda, you're absolutely correct! Unless it's *your* penis, no one should have a legal right to make a decision to mutilate it...not doctors, government, not even parents! When the medical community says it's for cleanliness, what they're really saying is the parent(s) is too incompetant to clean or teach their child how to clean; they're also saying parents are too incompetant to teach their child moral responsability regarding sex and STD's.

Hell NO! She will have plenty of financial support for the child but there is much more to raising a kid than that. You think she will discipline the kid enough, set good rules, sit down and help him with homework, play with him when he is a toddler and wants to play with action figures, change diapers, clean him, play video games with him, play sports with him? No she will pay people to do all these things. I wouldn't want her to be my Mom, even though My family was lower middle class, I would take that with a parent who was active with me over Snooki who will just throw money around.

Whose to say that she won't be a good mum? Just because we see her in her life before pregnancy as doing what a lot of other people her age do doesn't mean she won't me a good mother. I heard about her not drinking alcohol during pregnancy when she loves it should mean that she's at least taking motherhood a little seriously.

Wish there was an option for "who knows!" Just like any young parent, it could go either way. Maybe this is the reality check that she needs and will provide a good home for little Lorenzo. I wish her luck!

How the HECK can she be a good mom if she's not even a good person?! She has a better chance marrying a regular person and not a guido than to be a good mother.

Who the heck cares if Snooki gives birth to a "guido". She's gonna perform poorly as a parent and for the love of God, will social services take the baby away and give it to a better family?
