Between Ricky Gervais' controversial performance at the Golden Globes and the negative reaction to Anne Hathaway and James Franco at the Academy Awards, it's getting tough to determine who's going to rock or bomb at these hosting events.

Now, "Saturday Night Live" cast-member Jason Sudeikis has been booked to host the MTV Movie Awards, even though he has never hosted an event like this before.

Sudeikis will have a tough act to follow. Last year's host, stand-up comedian Aziz Ansari, received rave reviews.

According to CBS, MTV President Stephen Friedman picked him because "smart and funny is the new rock 'n' roll."

The MTV Movie Awards will take place on June 5.

If they want to get viewers, they need only two hosts, and neither need be a comedian.

Robert Pattinson for the ladies (apparently), and some hot chick. Doesn't matter who...

i don't know...actually i don't care..I'm not going to waste my time watching those awards....if it was a musical event like VMAs it would be different..atleast we could hear some good songs and live performances..
