Slash has a new feather in his cap. The legendary rocker best known as the onetime lead guitarist of Guns N' Roses received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on Tuesday.

"I've been a part of the Hollywood fabric for a long time and to actually be appreciated by the city of Hollywood is a huge, huge honor," Slash said at the unveiling of his star, according to Reuters. "And so I want to thank everybody for this; it's unbelievable."

And who knew that the 46-year-old rock god has a BFF in Charlie Sheen? "It's quite fitting I think that Slash is getting a star on the very street that Axl Rose will one day be sleeping on," Sheen joked at the ceremony, referring to Slash's former Guns bandmate and longtime enemy.

Slash has sold over 100 million albums as part of Guns N' Roses, Velvet Revolver and other groups, Reuters reports. His new solo album, "Apocalyptic Love," reached #4 on the Billboard Top 200.

I've seen youtube of Slash...he struggles with all of his might to play what Jimi Hendrix played just tuning up, looking offstage and talking to people. He doesn't hold a candle to Hendrix.

Well, it's a no-brainer that the Beatles are far and away the best "rock star" listed here. Those guys were timeless. However, there should have been a choice for OTHER. My favorite "rock star" is Metallica's lead guitarist, Kirk Hammett. I love him!

Musical taste is subjective, so everybody has there own "druthers" when it comes to the bands and music artists they prefer. I just think that the Beatles are iconic. They set the stage for every group that came after them, and their songs will stand the test of time, putting them in the same category as classical music, IMO. However, my favorite genre of music is heavy metal, with Metallica being my favorite metal band. Thanks for sharing your opinion, my friend, and have a wonderful weekend!

I was trained in classical music (piano), so I have an appreciation for ALL genres of music, as long as it's GOOD. I like Bluegrass, country and western, oldies (from Motown to the Beach Boys), pop (although today's bubblegum music pretty much sucks!), rap, blues, any kind of metal, R&B, funk, techno, alternative, hard rock, classic rock, and on and on. The one genre I can only take in small doses is jazz. And Muzak! I'm totally in agreement with your statement that, "Music is life." I can always find a song to fit my mood!

His body of work is limited to less than a dozen top ten's, his association and influence is negligible, but I do appreciate his ability and talent as a studio musician.
