We've been running a lot of stories on "The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim" lately because it's all the gaming news sources are talking about, and now we know why. According to a report published by Raptr, a site that tracks gameplay data for more than 10 million gamers, "Skyrim" is officially the most-played game of 2011 -- a year that Web Pro News claims has been the best year in gaming since 1996 (think "Super Mario 64").

Raptr's report also broke down the most-played games within different genres, though there are few surprises there. "Modern Warfare 3" topped the Shooter list, "Batman: Arkham City" dominated Open-World Games, and "Skyrim" obviously crushed the RPG category. (According to the report, it clocked in twice as many hours as the next best RPG, "Dragon Age 2.") Do you play Skyrim?

Study for finals or save multitudes of innocent people from the harbingers of the end times? Clearly, slaying dragons is much more important and influential...the wise choice ;D

Not yet. I just got all my black Friday purchases installed and I have some world domination to take care of before I consider yet another MMORPG.

    It's not an MMORPG...
    There's no multiplayer at all.

methinks you have to quest with them and then they will become interested. Like Farkas from the companions guild. You go on crazy adventures and he sees you're a supercool lady and I think he'll get interested...? Haven't done it yet, but that's what I've been told. :)

lol, nice contradiction there! "Thanksgiving Day night" Wouldn't it just be "Thanksgiving night?" Now you've got me pondering, thanks! :)

I was trying to distinguish it from Thanksgiving Eve night, although, as I remember, my nephew was playing it then, too.
  • James Dave Sa... 2011/12/12 00:58:34

lol, I gotcha! I usually just call it "thanksgiving night" and thats that. Your nephew was playing it? Playing what?

OHHH, yeah! I have it! I LOVE it!! However.. the armor is to easy to get. I was not even 2 hours into it and I already a full set of the best armor!

If you couldn't get the armor, you probably wouldn't have survived 2 hours :)

Nah, I did that in a new file.. before that file I survived just fine, lol.

And I must say that if "it clocked in twice as many hours" means that our gaming sessions are now being logged somehow, that I do not condone that in any way shape or form. Big Brother, especially corporate Big Brother, has absolutely no business knowing what games and for how long I chose to play them for! Totally unacceptable if that's in fact what that statement means! >:(

Steam tracks your gaming hours. Better stop signing EULA's :)
  • Whizzy grok70 2011/12/11 04:46:59

since i don't play it trough steam that means the real hour total is way higher since not everyone is playing it with steam. (not taking in consideration the many cracked versions out there)

    Magnus ☮ RP ☮ 2012 ☮
EULA or not I don't recall having ticked a box with full disclosed that Steam and/or other third-parties would be tracking my every gaming move. Just standing up for myself and others of a like mind here. This was total news to me... unsavory news.
  • grok70 Magnus ... 2011/12/15 05:12:49

You did. It's hidden in the 10 or 50 pages of crap no one reads before they agree to it. I'm not saying it's right, but that lately it's the cost of admission. Even if all you did was open a box, it says it there. EULA's are madness.

Working out my anger and misanthropy in fantasy violence seems to keep me from screaming at people in real life.
