When 20-year-old Kate Upton made her debut on the cover of Sports Illustrated's swimsuit issue this year, men wanted her and women wanted to look like her. Well, except for the people at a website called Skinny Gossip. The "pro skinny" site has slammed the model for having “huge thighs, NO waist, big fat floppy boobs." Find out what else the site had to say in the video below!
"Is this what American women are 'striving' for now? The lazy, lardy look? Have we really gotten so fat in this country that Kate is the best we can aim for? Sorry, but: eww! Fashion is supposed to be aspirational—and the kind of people who aspire to look like this shop for clothes at Wal-Mart. She looks like she would work in the back of a motorcycle shop in Nashville and give [a sexual favor] for $25."
Whoa! That's pretty harsh! And a big diss to Wal-Mart! According to Gothamist, Skinny Girl responded to the outrage with the following statement: "As a thin person, I was annoyed by our double-standards around weight. For example, people think nothing of telling a thin woman—to their face, in front of an entire group of people—how skinny they are and even to suggest what they should eat." She also says she's not pro-anorexia, even though she's been posting a "Starving Tip Of The Day" for years. Do you think "Skinny" should shut up? Or is she right about Kate Upton?

REALLY?
No Thanks...I'll take Kate!
Girl #1 has too much Photoshop:
Girl #2 is Snejana Onopka on the runway, a bad pose, no Photoshop, bad lights and unprofessional photoshoot. She's happily married now.
Girl #3 is Magdalena Frackowiak with, again, on the runway, a bad pose, no Photoshop, bad lights and unprofessional photoshoot. She's a gorgeous, unique beauty.
I think comparisons are good ideas to prove your point, but you should really be less biased and more fair and balanced when comparing pictures. If you are comparing women with Kate Upton, you should have used good pictures of those women or an un-pro picture of Upton.
Kate is not fat. That was the point. Skinny girls are too skinny. Sorry. You won't be able to change my mind. You find excuses, but no flaws...that's bias.
Snejana Onopka (Is too thin, like I said):
Magdalena Frackowiak (Is too thin, like I said):
Kate Upton (This girl is NOT fat):

You have to click on the link to find Kate Upton...and you have no problem finding hers.
That's Polish model Magdalena Frackowiak on the runway, with no Photoshop, a bad pose that makes her look skinnier than she really is and bad light. This is her in a real photoshoot, with probably as much Photoshop as Upton:
The point is that a person who writes under the name of Skinny Girl disses anyone who has normal breasts and hips as trash, says she doesn't promote anorexia, but publishes a starving tip of the day (which sounds like promoting anorexia to me), and seems to think that normal breasts and hips are something to fear. THAT IS CRAP.
If you fear normal weight as well as taking offense and reading something into a post which wasn't there, you need to look at your own attitude as well.
2) Skinny Gurl is not saying that skinny is standard. She is saying that for her and our community, skinny is what's ok. Not for others, FOR US.
3) Magdalena IS one of the skinniest models (size 2), but I don't think she looks unhealthy. It IS possible to be THAT skinny without sacrificing health, especially if your body is built like that (small frame). But the picture you posted makes her look skinnier than she really is. And of course the breasts are Photoshopped, just like Upton's in many editorial shoots.
4) "Starving Tips" is a hyperbole. Her usual "Tips" are on how to stop binging (drink tea after a meal, don't restrict for too long, etc), how to stop wanting junk food (thinking about all the fat and calories and the little to no nutrients), how to encourage yourself to keep exercising (treating yourself afterwards with stuff you like), etc, etc.
5) We don't fear normal weight. I myself am normal weight! Many girls there are overweight (even obese) hoping to become thin. I just want to be thin, not average. Why? Because I think it looks good. Because I don't want to be like any other person. Because we all know that at size 14, average isn't what it used to be years ago.
Skinny Gurl's comments are totally out of line. I don't care what you want. It's your choice, but her comments about a good looking woman who is not fat and not trashy because she has curves are TOTAL CRAP. And, so are you, if you think women who have breasts and hips look like whores out for a cheap f.
Here's what Skinny Gurl said, I take extreme exception to it. Oh, and by the way, I've heard far more dissing of fat women than I've ever heard of skinny, too.

If you think this is ok, fine. It's rude and as unhealthy as the health this stupid woman thinks are ok to post as starving tips. You don't need to respond. I'm through with you.
Thank you ;-) Finally someone open-minded that respects another opinion
"big floppy boobs" Yeah well, at least she has boobs and doesn't have a figure of a bony prepubecent little boy. :)
