Since actors seem so good at accents nowadays, which American actor could be the next James Bond?

We have Brit actors that have decent American accents these days, and vice versa.
Should the Brits always get to play James Bond?

How about an American boy? Got any ideas?

I think Matt Damon is an accomplished actor, but no offense, isn't he kinda bland? What's his personality? It doesn't ever come across. I feel he is too blank to be James Bond.

do you know, if he loses the playboy eyes, I think he could pull it off. I know Franco is much more than we've seen so far (altho I haven't had chance to see the arm-pinned in the desert flick yet).

I think Sam Witwer would be cool. He's a very good actor, doesn't get the coverage I think he deserves. Not to mention, he's totally hot.
