With a highly anticipated album already on the way, 10-year-old
Willow Smith might be putting her music career on hold to help her father out in a remake of the musical classic "Annie."
According to Variety, Will Smith is planning to produce the movie through his own management company, Overbrook Entertainment, and rumor has it rapper
Jay-Z will be involved in putting together the music.
Willow is Smith's prime candidate for the lead role, Variety reports.
Reps involved in the project are keeping it tightly under wraps until further notice. They refused to hint at whether it would be modernized, or if they would even keep the
original music. We think they should look at "Karate Kid," Willow's brother's attempt at a remake, and go from there...
P.S> My litle cousin was supposed to be the first black Annie, back off bitch. lol jk.
No offense, but i don't think she'd make a good red head
Edit: and I actually liked the new Karate Kid. It wasn't Karate, it was Kung Fu, but it was very well done.
IF they do anything with it, I hope they change it up a lot and change the names.
Because there can never be another "ANNIE."
As for Will Smith and his family. He can do what he wants... If it turns into an epic fail that's his own fault. I honestly must say that him and Jada aren't the best parents in the world. But they definitely aren't the worst. I just hope they don't think their kids are invincible to the "trap" most young celebrities typically fall under.
would make a better "ANNIE" than...
But like any other remake, I think it will be kind of bad unless it's something with a modern spin/twist.
I do agree with the modern twist thing. There should be a modern annie.
I'm just saying, they shouldn't change the physical features of the actual characters, because the classic is just too good.
But I think one with a modern twist and different names will seem fresh and not like a cheap copy.
I was touchy because the joke was.
P.S> The 'joke' was racist. It insinuated that because Willow was black that Jay-Z would perform a R&B version of Hard Knock Life
Have a great day, or not. Whatever floats your boat.
That's one of the few Jay Z songs I actually like...
