Tim Tebow is not amused. The New York Jets quarterback had a lot of success in Denver last season, but the Big Apple is a different animal. For as charitable and upstanding of a citizen as Tebow is, he's also image conscious. And who could blame someone for that if they're a role model? The T-shirt company Cubby Tees created a t-shirt that has an altered Jets logo with the word “Jesus” on it. Of course, Jesus is most associated in sports with Tebow and his openly religious beliefs.
Apparently, Tebow thought the association was too close for comfort in the case of Cubby Tees and his lawyers sent the company a cease and desist letter to halt the manufacturing of the shirt. Keep in mind, while it bears no likeness or name of Tebow, it is advertised as a Tim Tebow Jets shirt. Although, some fans may not know that and think he believes he's the only one allowed to express his love for Jesus -- and be the only one allowed to make money off of it.
That may not be the case at all, as it could have been Tebow's representatives who recommended him to make this move. Either way, perception is reality and whether they should or shouldn't make money off of those shirts, Tebow just unintentionally got Cubby Tees a heck of a lot more exposure and potential customers. No word on whether Cubby Tees will send Tim Tebow a free shirt for his troubles that reads “You Mad, Bro?”

Forgetting that - why would someone so into his religion that we now have "Tebowing" take issue with a shirt maker that is producing a shirt which will help to spread that very same religion?
