Should Tim Tebow Be the Next 'Bachelor'?

Broncos quarterback Tim Tebow has made quite a name for himself on the field -- partly due to his team's success, partly because he's been called "overrated" by the press and partly because of his outspoken religious beliefs. The attention has been kind of a mixed bag for the Heisman winner. But now Tebow is starting to see benefits off the field. A couple of weeks ago, he was spotted on a so-called date with Grammy-winning singer Taylor Swift, and now he's apparently being approached by "The Bachelor" for a possible spot on the show.

It's still more-or-less rumor status, but this rumor came straight from the horse's mouth. "Bachelor" host Chris Harrison told Access Hollywood on Monday, "I've actually met Tim Tebow. I met him about becoming our next 'Bachelor.' I think he'd be a great 'Bachelor.'" He even said the football star sounds interested. But we have a hard time envisioning the religious quarterback handing out fantasy suite cards... er, we mean roses. Do you think Tim Tebow should be on "The Bachelor"?

Good grief leave the guy alone. He will have no problem finding the right girl when he is ready.

How loving. Sure glad folks like you make the rules on this planet. Let's get rid of all those folks who believe in loving thy neighbor and forgiveness. Instead, let's have folks like you--who believe in murdering innocent segments of our society that you label "inconveniences"--run things. The world would be a most enlightened place.

As devoted as he is to God, I don't think he needs to play a game of elimination between 50 women who want to "win" the game of love when they don't even know him. I the show portrays desperate women who want fame and money. Tim Tebow already has both, so let him find the right girl his own way on his own time.

No, anyone who has been paying attention to this show knows that the chances of finding love and marriage are poor. Now if you want to travel, eat and drink for free this should be the show for you. The liquor flows freely and you can see all the bikinis you want. Tebow keep it simple! It is hard enough to find someone genuine but to stack the deck against you would be just plain silly.

Love that you're a vegan! I used to be but have wandered away from it over the years & on my way back. Also used to be Christian & it robbed me of my very spirit & left me always feeling fearful & chained to someone else's idea. Religion didn't bind me to God, it separated me from whatever that central force of life is. I don't downgrade Christianity for others, except when it's used to judge & dictate how others lead their life. Everyone's life is their own. xx

My best advice for you is to, get down on one knee, and "Tune in, turn on, drop out..." and this is how you will know. As a retired IT Technician/Consultant, award winning and published astronomy artist, I did not even know who Tim Tebow was until I saw this notice in my morning Gmail inbox just moments ago. I guess one would have to live in Denver to know this? In Portland we have real lives to live. I think I knew he was a sports figure, football, or was it basketball? I don't watch TV or ever read a sports section in the papers since I was maybe 10 in 1964 but I have spoken on NPR many times in recent years, acted on Hollywood movie sets, I’ve helped to promote and produce documentary films, promote new young fold musicians and music videos, was a professor of Astronomy in a local university. But sports news for 12 year old teen idols? Is that even on this planet?

I played in little league as a left handed pitcher and a running back in high school football but never cared to follow sports figures as teen-rock-star- idolatry. Is this what immature girls do for fun to quell their angst?

Can you tell how much I care about these mindless stories of sports figures? The teen idolatry question about his personal life as a bachelor? He probably has a few thousand women writing to him...

The thing is that the world has so much going on to experience, why would anyone waste their time fiddling-following some testosterone-steroid-head sports figures when the rest of the world in your community is burning with amazing activity and culture in real life to experience?

Mindless Teen Idol girls can't accept reality. Ask real people if they even know who Tebow is. Is this even newsworthy? Sports-heads and idiots would only follow this mindless story while real events, and real culture is taking place in the world.

I believe he has too much class and self-respect to be on that horrible show. His religeous beliefs would not allow him to participate.

Perhaps his religeous beliefs will be the reason that he [does] participate. What do [you] believe in your religeous beliefs? What would Jesus do?

I don't believe Tim Tebow would be interested in women parading themselves around trying to impress him. Believe me, he can do so much better. I don't believe he will compromise his religeous beliefs in such a way.

He does not need to look for a girl there. He would seem to be the type to take his time developing a serious relationship with a girl, based on Christian principals. This program promotes nothing of the sort.
